BISMIL LAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the Name of Allah, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate

WAZ ZOHAA.

By the Glorious Morning Light,

WAL LAYLE EZAA SAJAA.

And by the Night when it is still,

MAA WADDA-A’KA RABBOKA WA MAA QALAA.

Thy Guardian-Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased.

WA LAL-AAKHERATO KHAYRUL LAKA MENAL OOLAA.

And verily the Hereafter will be better for thee than the present.

WA LA-SAWFA YOA’TEEKA RABBOKA FA-TARZAA.

And soon will thy Guardian-Lord give thee (that wherewith) thou shalt be well-pleased.

ALAM YAJIDKA YATEEMAN FA-AAWAA.

Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)?

WA WAJADAKA ZAAAL-LAN FA-HADAA.

And He found thee wandering, and He gave thee guidance.

WA WAJADAKA A’AAELAN FA-AGHNAA.

And He found thee in need, and made thee independent.

FA-AMMAL YATEEMA FALAA TAQHAR.

Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness,

WA AMMAS SAAA-ELA FALAA TANHAR.

Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard);

WA AMMAA BE-NE’MATE RABBEKA FA-HADDIS.

But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim!
