(7) Munajaat for Hajj

Text and Translation

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱرْزُقْنِي ٱلحَجَّ

allahumma urzuqni alhajja

O Allah, (please) grant me success to go on Hajj pilgrimage,

ٱلَّذِي ٱفْتَرَضْتَهُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ ٱسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلاًَ

alladhi iftaradtahu `ala man istata`a ilayhi sabilan

which You have imposed upon whoever is capable of going on it,

وَٱجْعَلْ لِي فِيهِ هَادِياً وَإِلَيْهِ دَلِيلاًَ

waj`al li fihi hadiyan wa ilayhi dalilan

appoint for me in it a guide and a director to it,

وَقَرِّبْ لِي بُعْدَ ٱلْمَسَالِكِ

wa qarrib li bu`da almasaliki

make accessible for me the remote paths,

وَاعِنِّي عَلَىٰ تَادِيَةِ ٱلْمَنَاسِكِ

wa a`inni `ala ta'diyati almanasiki

help me carry out its rituals,

وَحَرِّمْ بِإِحْرَامِي عَلَىٰ ٱلنَّارِ جَسَدِي

wa harrim bi'ihrami `ala alnnari jasadi

prevent fire from consuming my b0dy due to my entering into the state of ritual consecration,

وَزِدْ لِلسَّفَرِ قُوَّتِي وَجَلَدِي

wa zid lilssafari quwwati wa jaladi

and increase my power and my endurance on my hajj journey.

وَٱرْزُقْنِي رَبِّ ٱلْوُقُوفَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ

warzuqni rabbi alwuqufa bayna yadayka

O my Lord, grant me the opportunity to present myself in Your Presence

وَٱلإِفَاضَةَ إِلَيْكَ

wal-ifadata ilayka

and to hasten my steps to You

وَاظْفِرْنِي بِٱلنُّجْحِ بِوَافِرِ ٱلرِّبْحِ

wa azfirni bilnnujhi biwafiri alrribhi

and grant me success in obtaining abundant gain.

وَاصْدِرْنِي رَبِّ مِنْ مَوْقِفِ ٱلْحَجِّ ٱلاكْبَرِ

wa asdirni rabbi min mawqifi alhajji al-akbari

My Lord, grant me opportunity to attach the situation of the grand hajj

إِلَىٰ مُزْدَلَفَةِ ٱلْمَشْعَرِ

ila muzdalafati almash`ari

to Muzdalifah, the holy monument,

وَٱجْعَلْهَا زُلْفَةً إِلَىٰ رَحْمَتِكَ

waj`alha zulfatan ila rahmatika

deciding it to be a nearer step towards Your mercy

وَطَرِيقاً إِلَىٰ جَنَّتِكَ

wa tariqan ila jannatika

and a path towards Your Paradise.

وَقِفْنِي مَوْقِفَ ٱلْمَشْعِرَ ٱلْحَرَامِ

wa qifni mawqifa almash`ira alharami

Help me to stop at the situation of the Holy Monument

وَمَقَامَ وُقُوفِ ٱلإِحْرَامِ

wa maqama wuqufi al-ihrami

and the situation of the ritual consecration.

وَاهِلَّنِي لِتَادِيَةِ ٱلْمَنَاسِكِ

wa ahillani lita'diyati almanasiki

Prepare me to carry out the rituals,

وَنَحْرِ ٱلْهَدْيِ ٱلتَّوَامِكِ

wa nahri alhadyi alttawamiki

to immolate the offertory camels,

بِدَمٍ يَثُجُّ وَاوْدَاجٍ تَمُجُّ

bidamin yathujju wa awdajin tamujju

causing their blood to gush forth and their throats to be cut off,

وَإِرَاقَةِ ٱلدِّمَاءِ ٱلْمَسْفُوحَةِ

wa iraqati alddima'i almasfuhati

and make me shed the poured out blood (of these animals),

وَٱلْهَدَايَا ٱلْمَذْبُوحَةِ

walhadaya almadhbuhati

offer the slaughtered offertory animals,

وَفَرْيِ اوْدَاجِهَا عَلَىٰ مَا امَرْتَ

wa faryi awdajiha `ala ma amarta

cut off their throats as exactly as You have instructed,

وَٱلتَّنَفُّلِ بِهَا كَمَا وَسَمْتَ

walttanaffuli biha kama wasamta

and submit them as presents as exactly as You have prescribed.

وَاحْضِرْنِي ٱللَّهُمَّ صَلاَةَ ٱلْعِيدِ

wa ahdirni allahumma salata al`idi

O Allah, make me present myself at the Feast Prayer,

رَاجِياً لِلْوَعْدِ

rajiyan lilwa`di

hoping for what You have promised to give,

خَائِفاً مِنَ ٱلْوَعِيدِ

kha'ifan min alwa`idi

fearful of what You have threatened Your punishment,

حَالِقاً شَعْرَ رَاسِي وَمُقَصِّراً

haliqan sha`ra ra'si wa muqassiran
