Text and Translation

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

BISMILLAAHIR RAHMAANIR RAHEEM

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَللّٰهُمَّ قَرِّبْنِیْ فِیْهِ اِلٰی مَرْضَاتِكَ

ALLAAHUMMA QARRIBNEE FEEHE ELAA MARZAATEKA

O Allah! On this day, take me closer towards Your pleasure,

وَجَنِّبْنِیْ فِیْهِ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَنَقِمَاتِكَ

WA JANNIBNEE FEEHE MIN SAKAHTEKA WA NAQEMAATEKA

keep me away from Your anger and punishment,

وَوَفِّقْنِیْ فِیْهِ لِقَرَآئَۃِ اٰیَاتِكَ

WA WAFFIQNEE FEEHE LE-QERAA-ATE AAYAATEKA

grant me the opportunity to recite Your verses (of the Qur’an),

بِرَحْمَتِكَ یَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِیْنَ.

BE-RAHMATEKA YAA ARHAMAR RAAHEMEENA.

by Your mercy, O the most Merciful.
