Text and Translation

اَللّٰهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِىْ فِيْهِ اَبْوَابَ الْجِنَانِ، وَ اَغْلِقْ عَنِّىْ فِيْهِ اَبْوَابَ النِّيْرَانِ، وَو َفِّقْنِىْ فِيْهِ لِتِلَاوَةِ الْقُرْاٰنِ، يَا مُنْزِلَ السَّكِيْنَةِ فِىْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ.

ALLAAHUMMAF TAH LEE ABWAABAL JENAANE WA AGHLIQ A'NNEE FEEHE ABWAABAN NEERAANE WA WAFFIQNEE FEEHE LE-TELAAWATIL QUR-AANE YAA MUNZELAS SAKEENATE FEE QOLOOBIL MOA-MENEENA.

O Allah, on this day, (please) open for me the gates of the gardens of Paradise, shut in my face the gates of Hellfire, and lead me to recite the Qur'an. O He Who sends down tranquility on the hearts of the believers!
