(10) Munajaat for Granting of Requests

Text and Translation

جَدِيرٌ مَنْ امَرْتَهُ بِٱلدُّعَاءِ انْ يَدْعُوَكَ

jadirun man amartahu bilddu`a'i an yad`waka

He whom You have ordered to pray You is worthily required to pray You

وَمَنْ وَعَدْتَهُ بِٱلإِجَابَةِ انْ يَرْجُوَكَ

wa man wa`adtahu bil-ijabati an yarjwaka

and he whom You have promised to respond to his prayers is worthily required to hope for Your response.

وَلِيَ ٱللَّهُمَّ حَاجَةٌ

wa liya allahumma hajatun

O Allah, I have a request [that I need You to grant]

قَدْ عَجَزَتْ عَنْهَا حِيلَتِي

qad `ajazat `anha hilati

that I am too short to fulfill,

وَكَلَّتْ فِيهَا طَاقَتِي

wa kallat fiha taqati

too powerless to do,

وَضَعُفَ عَنْ مَرَامِهَا قُوَّتِي

wa da`ufa `an maramiha quwwati

and too weak to attain.

وَسَوَّلَتْ لِي نَفْسِيَ ٱلامَّارَةُ بِٱلسُّوءِ

wa sawwalat li nafsiya al-ammaratu bilssu'i

My soul that is prone to evil

وَعَدُوِّي ٱلْغَرُورُ ٱلَّذِي انَا مِنْهُ مَبْلُوٌّ

wa `aduwwiya algharuru alladhi ana minhu mabluwwun

and my deceiving archenemy from whom I am suffering

انْ ارْغَبَ إِلَيْكَ فِيهَا

an arghaba ilayka fiha

have beguiled me into shunning wishing for Your help in this request.

اَللَّهُمَّ وَانْجِحْهَا بِايْمَنِ ٱلنَّجَاحِ

allahumma wa anjihha bi-aymani alnnajahi

O Allah, so (please) grant my request the most blissful success,

وَٱهْدِهَا سَبِيلَ ٱلْفَلاَحِ

wahdiha sabila alfalahi

direct it towards the path of prosperity,

وَٱشْرَحْ بِٱلرَّجَاءِ لإِسْعَافِكَ صَدْرِي

washrah bilrraja'i li'is`afika sadri

expand my breast with hopeful petition for Your relief,

وَيَسِّرْ فِي اسْبَابِ ٱلْخَيْرِ امْرِي

wa yassir fi asbabi alkhayri amri

facilitate my affairs through the ways of welfare,

وَصَوِّرْ إِلَيَّ ٱلْفَوْزَ بِبُلُوغِ مَا رَجَوْتُهُ

wa sawwir ilayya alfawza bibulughi ma rajawtuhu

and establish for me triumph through making me attain what I have hoped for

بِٱلْوُصُولِ إِلىٰ مَا امَّلْتُهُ

bilwusuli ila ma ammaltuhu

and gain what I have wished for.

وَوَفِّقْنِي ٱللَّهُمَّ فِي قَضَاءِ حَاجَتِي

wa waffiqni allahumma fi qada'i hajati

O Allah, (please) grant me access to the fulfillment of my requests

بِبُلُوغِ امْنِيَّتِي

bibulughi umniyyati

through attainment of my wish

وَتَصْدِيقِ رَغْبَتِي

wa tasdiqi raghbati

and achievement of my desire.

وَاعِذْنِي ٱللَّهُمَّ بِكَرَمِكَ مِنَ ٱلْخَيْبَةِ وَٱلْقُنُوطِ

wa a`idhni allahumma bikaramika min alkhaybati walqunuti

O Allah, in the name of Your Nobility, (please) protect me against disappointment, despair,

وَٱلانَاةِ وَٱلتَّثْبِيطِ

wal-anati walttathbiti

despondency, and frustration.

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ مَلِي‏ءٌ بِٱلْمَنَائِحِ ٱلْجَزِيلَةِ

allahumma innaka mali'un bilmana'ihi aljazilati

O Allah, You are full of plentiful gifts,

وَفِيٌّ بِهَا

wafiyyun biha

You are true to Your words,

وَانْتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

wa anta `ala kulli shay'in qadirun

You have power over all things,

بِعِبَادِكَ خَبِيرٌ بَصِيرٌ

bi`ibadika khabirun basirun

and You know and regard all of Your servants.
