Ziyarah on the Day of Ghadeer

Text and Translation

Through authoritative chains of authority, it is narrated that Imam Ali ibn Muhammad al-Hadi (a.s.) said the following form of ziyarah at the holy tomb of Imam Ali Ameer al-Moamenin (a.s.) on the Ghadeer day when he was summoned by the Abbasid ruler, al-Mo’tasim, to be present before him in Iraq:

With the intention of visiting the holy tomb of Imam Ali (a.s.), you may stop at the gate of the dome of the holy shrine and seek permission of entrance. However, Shaykh al-Mufeed says that you may wash yourself, put on the cleanest of your clothes, and say the following form of seeking permission, which, beginning with the following statement, has been cited previously:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ وَقَفْتُ عَلٰى بَابٍ...

ALLAAHUMMA INNEE WAQAFTO A’LAA BAABIN...

O Allah, indeed I have stood at a door...

You may then enter there with your right foot and walk until you stop at the holy tomb, which you may face and make the kiblah direction to be between your shoulders. There, you may say the following words:

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ

ASSALAMO A’LAA MOHAMMADIN RASOOLIL LAAHE

Peace be on Mohammad, the Apostle of Allah,

خَاتَمِ النَّبِیِّیْنَ وَسَیِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِیْنَ

KHAATAMIN NABIYYEENA WA SAYYEDIL MURSALEENA

the Last of the Prophets and the leader of the Apostles

وَصَفْوَۃِ رَبّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ اَمِیْنِ اللهِ

WA SAFWATE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA AMEENIL LAAHE

and the chosen one of the Lord of the Universe, the trustee of Allah

عَلٰی وَحْیِهٖ وَعَزآئِمِ اَمْرِهٖ وَالْخَاتِمِ

A’LAA WAHYEHI WA A’ZAAEME AMREHI WAL KHAATEME

upon His revelation and His intentions and the last

لِمَا سَبَقَ وَالْفَاتِحِ لِمَا اسْتُقْبِلَ

LEMAA SABAQA WAL FAATEHE LEMAS TUQBELA

of those who preceded him and the beginner for all

وَالْمُهَیْمِنِ عَلٰی ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهٖ

WAL MOHAYMENE A’LAA ZAALEKA KULLEHI

those who will come in the future and he is the guardian over all that

وَرَحْمَۃُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُہٗ وَصَلَوَاتُہٗ وَتَحِیَّاتُہٗ

WA RAHMATULLAAHE WA BARAKAATOHU WA SALAWAATOHU WATAHIYYAATOHU

and the Mercy of Allah and His Blessings and His Salutations and His Greetings.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰٓی اَنْبِیَآءِ اللهِ وَرُسُلِهٖ

ASSALAAMO ALAA ANBEYAAILLAAHE WA ROSOLEHI

Peace be on the Prophet of Allah and His Apostles

وَمَلآْئِكَتِهِ الْمُقَرَّبِیْنَ وَعِبَادِهِ الصَّالِحِیْنَ

WA MALAAAEKATEHIL MOQARRABEENA WA E’BAADEHIS SAALEHEENA

and His proximate angels and His righteous servants.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اَمِیْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YA AMEERAL MUMINEENA

Peace be on you, O the leader of the faithful

وَسَیِّدِ الْوَصِیِّیْنَ وَوَارِثَ عِلْمِ

WA SAYYIDILWASEENA WA WAARISA ILMIN

and the chief of the vicegerents and the inheritor of the knowledge

النَّبِیِّیْنَ وَوَلِیَّ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ

NABEENA WA WALEEYA RABBIL AALAMEENA

of the Prophets and the representative of the Lord of the Universe

وَمَوْلَایَ وَمَوْلَی الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

WA MAULAAYA WA MAULAL AL MUMINEEN

and my master and the master of the believers

وَرَحْمَۃُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُہٗ

WA RAHMAT ULLAHE WA BARAKAATOHU

and the Mercy of Allah and His Blessings be on you.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا مَوْلَایَ یَا اَمِیْرَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YA MAULAAYA YAA AMEERAL

Peace be on you, O my master, O the leader

الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ یَا اَمِیْنَ اللهِ فِیْ اَرْضِهٖ

MOMINEENA YA AMEENALLAAHE FEE ARZEHI

of the faithful, O the trustee of Allah in His earth

وَسَفِیْرَہٗ فِیْ خَلْقِهٖ وَحُجَّتَهُ الْبَالِغَۃَ عَلٰی عِبَادِهٖ

WA SAFEERAHU FEE KHALQEHI WA HUJJATUL BAALEGHATA A’LAA EBAADEHI

and His representative in His cities and His cities and His all prevailing argument upon His servants.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا دِیْنَ اللهِ الْقَوِیْمَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YA DEENALLAHIL QAWEEMA

Peace be on you, O the upright religion of Allah

وَصِرَاطَهُ الْمُسْتَقِیْمَ

WA SERAATAHUL MUSTAQEEMA

and His straight path.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ اَیُّهَا النَّبَأُ الْعَظِیْمُ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA AYYOHAN NABA-UL A’ZEEMUL

Peace be on you, O the great news concerning

الَّذِیْ هُمْ فِیْهِ مُخْتَلِفُوْنَ وَعَنْهُ یُسْئَلُوْنَ

LAZEE HUM FEEHE MUKHTALEFOONA WA A’NHO YUS-ALOONA

whom they differ and about whom they will be questioned.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَآ اَمِیْرَالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YA AMEERAL MOMINEENA

Peace be on you, O the chief of the faithful,

اٰمَنْتَ بِاللهِ وَهُمْ مُشْرِكُوْنَ

AAMANTA BILLAAHE WA HUM MUSHREKOONA

you believed in Allah while they were polytheists

وَصَدَّقْتَ بِالْحَقِّ وَهُمْ مُكَذِّبُوْنَ

WA SADDAQTA BILHAQQE WAHUM MOKAZZEBOONA

and you testified to the truth while they were the deniers

وَجَاهَدْتَ وَهُمْ مُحْجِمُوْنَ

WA JAAHAD-TA WA HUM MOHJEMOONA

and you strove and fought (in the way of Allah) while they expressed cowardice.

وَعَبَدْتَ اللهَ مُخْلِصًا لَهُ الدِّیْنَ صَابِرًا

WA A’BADTALLAAHA MUKHLESAN LAHUD DEENA SAABERAN

And you worshipped Allah sincerely, exuberating patience

مُحْتَسِبًا حَتّٰی اَتٰیكَ الْیَقِیْنُ

MOHTASEBAN HATTA AATAAKAL YAQEENO

and forbearance till the time death overtook you.

اَلَا لَعْنَۃُ اللهِ عَلَی الظَّالِمِیْنَ

ALAA L’ANATULLAAHE A’LAZ ZAALEMEENA

Behold! Curse of Allah be upon the oppressors.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا سَیِّدَ الْمُسْلِمِیْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YAA SAYYEDAL MUSLEMEENA

Peace be on you, O the chief of the submitters

وَیَعْسُوْبَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَاِمَامَ

WA YA’SOOBAL MOMINEENA WA EMAAMAL

and the commander of the believers and the leader

الْمُتَّقِیْنَ وَقَآئِدَ الْغُرِّ الْمُحَجِّلِیْنَ

MUTTAQEENA WA QAAAEDAL GHURRIL MOHAJJALEENA

of the pious and the guide of those with radiant foreheads

وَرَحْمَۃُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُہٗ

WA RAHMATULLAAHE WA BARAKAATOHU

and the mercy of Allah and His Blessings.

اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ اَخُوْ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ وَوَصِیُّہٗ

ASH-HADO ANNAKA AKHOO RASOOLILLAAHE WA WASIYYOHU

I bear witness that you are the brother of Apostle of Allah and his vicegerent

وَوَارِثُ عِلْمِهٖ وَاَمِیْنُہٗ عَلٰی

WA WAARESO I’LMEHI WA AMEENOHU A’LAA

and the inheritor of his knowledge and his trustee on

شَرْعِهٖ وَخَلِیْفَتُہٗ فِیْ اُمَّتِهٖ وَاَوَّلَ مَنْ

SHAR-E’HI WA KHALEEFATOHU FEE UMMATEHI WA AWWALO MAN

his laws and his caliph upon his nation and the first of

اٰمَنَ بِاللهِ وَصَدَّقَ بِمَآ اُنْزِلَ عَلٰی نَبِیِّهٖ

AAMANA BILLAAHE WA SADDAQA BEMA UNZELA A’LAA NABIYYEHI

those who believe in Allah and to testify in whatever has been sent upon His Prophet

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّہٗ قَدْ بَلَّغَ عَنِ اللهِ مَا

WA ASH-HADO ANNAHU QAD BALLAGHA A’NILLAAHE MAA

and I bear witness that surely he (Holy Prophet) conveyed all that was

اَنْزَلْتَہٗ فِیْكَ وَصَدَعَ بِاَمْرِهٖ

ANZALAHU FEEKA WA SADA-A’ BE AMREHI

revealed concerning you from the side of Allah and complied with His commands

وَاَوْجَبَ عَلٰی اُمَّتِهٖ فَرْضَ طَاعَتِكَ

WA AWJABA A’LAA UMMATEHI FARZA TAA-A’TEKA

and made obligatory upon his nation your obedience

وَوِلَایَتِكَ وَعَقَدَ عَلَیْهِمُ الْبَیْعَۃَ لَكَ

WA WELAAYATEKA WA A’QADA A’LAYHEMUL BAYATA LAKA

and your mastership and he took your pledge of allegiance from them

وَجَعَلَكَ اَوْلٰی بِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ مِنْ

WA JA-A’LAKA AWLAA BIL MOMINEENA MIN

and he declared you to having more authority over the believers than

اَنْفُسِهِمْ كَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللهُ كَذٰلِكَ

ANFOSEHIM KAMAA JA-A’LAHULLAAHO KAZAALEKA

they have over their own selves just as Allah has made him such.

ثُمَّ اَشْهَدَ اللهَ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْهِمْ فَقَالَ

SUMMA ASH-HADALLAAHA TA-A’ALA A’LAYHIM FAQAALA

Then he made Allah as a witness upon them and then said,

اَلَسْتُ قَدْ بَلَّغْتُ فَقَالُوْا اللّٰهُمَّ بَلٰی

ALASTO QAD BALLAGHTO FAQAALUL LAAHUMMA BALAA

‘Is it not that I have conveyed?’ They replied, ‘Yes, by Allah.’

فَقَالَ اَللّٰهُمَّ اشْهَدْ وَكَفٰی بِكَ

FAQAALA ALLAAHUMMASH HAD WA KAFAA BEKA

Then he said, ‘O Allah! You be a witness and You are sufficient as

شَهِیْدًا وَحَاكِمًا بَیْنَ الْعِبَادِ

SHAHEEDAN WA HAAKEMAN BAYNAL E’BAADE

a witness and a judge between the servants.

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ جَاحِدَ وِلَایَتِكَ بَعْدَ الْاِقْرَارِ

FA LA-A’NALLAAHO JAAHEDA WELAAYATEKA BA’DAL IQRAARE

Then may Allah curse those who rejected your mastership after having attested to it

وَنَاكِثَ عَهْدِكَ بَعْدَ الْمِیْثَاقِ

WA NAAKESA A’HDEKA BA’DAL MEESAAQE

and they broke your promise after having made the covenant.

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ وَفَیْتَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ تَعَالٰی

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA WAFAYTA BE A’HDILLAAHE TA-A’ALAA

And I bear Allah that you fulfilled the covenant of Allah, the High

وَاَنَّ اللهَ تَعَالٰی مُوفٍ لَكَ بِعَهْدِهٖ

WA ANNALLAAHA TA-A’ALAA MOOFIN LAKA BE A’HDEHI

and that Allah will redeem His Promise to you and one who observed

وَمَنْ اَوْفٰی بِمَا عَاهَدَ عَلَیْهُ اللهُ

WA MAN AWFAA BEMAA A’AHADA A’LAYHULLAAHO

whatever he had promised to Allah,

فَسَیُؤْتِیْهِ اَجْرًا عَظِیْمًا

FASA-YOATEHI AJRAN A’ZEEMAN

then surely Allah will grant him a great reward.

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ اَمِیْرُ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ الْحَقُّ

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA AMEERUL MOMINEENAL HAQQO

And I bear witness that you are the leader of the faithful truly,

الَّذِیْ نَطَقَ بِوِلَایَتِكَ التَّنْزِیْلُ

LAZEE NATAQA BE WELAAYETEKAT TANZEELO

the Revelation (Quran) speaks eloquently about your mastership

وَاَخَذَ لَكَ الْعَهْدَ عَلَی الْاُمَّۃِ بِذٰلِكَ

WA AKHAZA LAKAL A’HDA A’LAL UMMATEHI BEZAALEKAR

and the Apostle took a covenant to this effect

الرَّسُوْلُ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ وَعَمَّكَ

RASOOLO WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA WA A’MMAKA

from his nation and I bear witness that you and your uncle

وَاَخَاكَ الَّذِیْنَ تَاجَرْتُمُ اللهَ

WA AKHAAKAL LAZEENA TAAJARTOMULLAAHA

and your brother have all traded

بِنُفُوسِكُمْ فَاَنْزَلَ اللهُ فِیْكُمْ اِنَّ اللهَ

BENOFOOSEKUM FA-ANZALALLAAHO FEEKUM INNALLAAHASH

their lives with Allah. Then Allah has revealed about you. "Surely Allah

اشْتَرٰی مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ اَنْفُسَهُمْ

TARAA MENAL MOMINEENA ANFOSAHUM

has bought from the believers their lives

وَاَمْوَالَهُمْ بِاَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّۃَ یُقَاتِلُوْنَ

WA AMWAALAHUM BE ANNA LAHOMUL JANNATA YOQAATELOONA

and their wealth in lieu of Paradise, they fight in the way of Allah

فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللهِ فَیَقْتُلُوْنَ وَیُقْتَلُوْنَ

FEE SABEELILLAAHE FAYAQTOLOONA WA YUQTALOONA

and they kill and are killed,

وَعْدًا عَلَیْهِ حَقًّا فِی التَّوْرٰیۃِ

WA’DAN A’LAYHE HAQQAN FEET TAWRAATE

Allah’s Promise is true which is mentioned in the Torah,

وَالْاِنْجِیْلِ وَالْقُرْاٰنِ وَمَنْ اَوْفٰی

WAL INJEELE WAL QUR-AANE WA MAN AWFAA

the Bible and the Holy Quran and whoever fulfills

بَعَهْدِهٖ مِنَ اللهِ فَاسْتَبْشِرُوْا بِبَیْعِكُمُ

BE A’HDEHI MENALLAAHE FASTABASHERU BE BAY-E’KOMUL

his covenant with Allah then give him glad tidings of your trading

الَّذِیْ بَایَعْتُمْ بِهٖ وَذٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ

LAZEE BAAYA’TUM BEHI WA ZAALEKA HOWAL FAWZUL

of what you have traded and that is a great

الْعَظِیْمُ التَّآئِبُوْنَ الْعَابِدُوْنَ

A’ZEEMUT TAAA-EBOONAL A’ABEDOONAL

success. The repentants, the worshippers,

الْحَامِدُوْنَ السَّائِحُوْنَ الرَّاكِعُوْنَ

HAAMEDOONAS SAAA-EHOONAR RAAKE-O’ONAS

the glorifiers, those who observe fast, those who bow,

السَّاجِدُوْنَ الْاٰمِرُوْنَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ

SAAJEDOONAL AAMEROONA BIL MA’ROOFE

those who prostrate, those who enjoin good

وَالنَّاهُوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَالْحَافِظُوْنَ

WANNAAHOONA A’NIL MUNKARE WAL HAAFEZOONA

and forbid evil and those who observe

لِحُدُوْدِ اللهِ وَبَشِّرِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

LEHODOODIL LAAHE WA BASH-SHERIL MOMINEENA

the limits set by Allah and give glad tidings to the believers."

اَشْهَدُ یَا اَمِیْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ اَنَّ الشَّآكَ

ASH-HADO YA AMEERAL MOMINEENA ANNASH SHAAKKA

I bear witness, O leader of the faithful, that he

فِیْكَ مَا اٰمَنَ بِالرَّسُوْلِ الْاَمِیْنِ وَاَنَّ

FEEKA MAA AAMANA BIR RASOOLIL AMEENE WA ANNAL

does not believe in the trustworthy Apostle who has

الْعَادِلَ بِكَ غَیْرِكَ عَانِدٌ عَنِ الدِّیْنِ

AADELA BEKA GHAIRAKA A’ANEDUN A’NID DEENIL

scepticism concerning you that is an enemy of the upright

الْقَوِیْمِ الَّذِیْ ارْتَضَاهُ لَنَا رَبُّ

QAWEEMIL LAZEER TAZAAHO LANAA RABBUL

religion who has equated someone else with you, the religion with which the Lord

الْعَالَمِیْنَ وَاَكْمَلَہٗ بِوِلَایَتِكَ یَوْمَ

A’ALAMEENA WA AKMALAHU BE WELAAYATEKA YAWMAL

of the universe has chosen for us and which He has perfected by your mastership on the

الْغَدِیْرِ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ الْمَعْنِیُّ بِقَوْلِ

GHADEERE WA ASH-HADO ANNAKAL MA’NIYYO BEQAWLIL

Day of Ghadeer and I bear witness that you are the one meant in the following verse

الْعَزِیْزِ الرَّحِیْمِ وَاَنَّ هٰذَا صِرَاطِیْ

A’ZEEZIR RAHEEME WA ANNA HAAZA SERAATI

of the Honoured the Merciful (Allah): And that this is My straight path,

مُسْتَقِیْمًا فَاتَّبِعُوْهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوْا السُّبُلَ

MUSTAQEEMAN FATTABE-O’O-HO WA LAA TATTABE-O’OS SOBOLA

then follow it and do not follow other paths

فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَنْ سَبِیْلِهٖ ضَلَّ وَاللهِ

FA TAFRRAQA BEKUM A’N SABEELEHI ZALLA WAL LAAHE

then it will deviate you from the path of Allah. I swear by Allah

وَاَضَلَّ مَنِ التَّبَعَ سِوَاكَ وَعِنْدَ عَنِ

WA AZALLA MANIT TABA-A’ SEWAAKA WA I’NDA A’NIL

that he is deviated and hedeviates others who follows anybody other than you, and that he is an enemy

الْحَقِّ مَنْ عَادَاكَ

HAQQE MAN A’ADAKA

of the truth who opposes you.

اَللّٰهُمَّ سَمِعْنَا لِاَمْرِكَ وَاَطَعْنَا وَاتَّبَعْنَا

ALLAAHUMMA SAMEA’NAA LE AMREKA WA ATA’NAA WAT TABA’NAA

O Allah! we have heard your command and we have obeyed and we have followed

صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِیْمَ فَاهْدِنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا

SERAATAKAL MUSTAQEEMA FAHDENAA RABBANAA WALAA

your straight path, then O our Lord, do guide us and

تُزِغْ قُلُوْبَنَا بَعْدَ اِذْ هَدَیْتَنَا اِلٰی

TOZIGH QOLOOBANAA BA’DA IZ HADAYTANAA ELAA

do not deviate our hearts after you have guided us

طَاعَتِكَ وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنَ الشَّاكِرِیْنَ لِاَنْعُمِكَ

TAA-A’TEKA WAJ-A’LNAA MENASH SHAAKEREENA LE-ANO’MEKA

towards Your obedience. And include us from those who are thankful for Your bounties,

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ لَمْ تَزَلْ لِلْهَوٰی مُخَالِفًا

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA LAM TAZAL LILHAWAA MOKHAALEFAN

and I bear witness that You always opposed vain

وَلِلتُّقٰی مُحَالِفًا وَعَلٰی كَظْمِ الْغَیْظِ

WA LIT-TOQAA MOHAALEFAN WA A’LAA KAZ-MIL GHAYZE

entertainment and you always exhorted piety

قَادِرًا وَعَنِ النَّاسِ عَافِیًا غَافِرًا وَاِذَا

QAADERAN WA A’NIN NAASE A’AFEYAN GHAAFERAN WA EZAA

and you were able to curb the anger and you were forgiving towards the people

عُصِیَ اللهُ سَاخِطًا وَاِذَا اُطِیْعَ اللهُ

O’OSEYALLAAHO SAAKHETAN WA EZA OTEEA’LLAAHO

and you were angry whenever Allah is disobeyed and

رَاضِیًا وَبِمَا عَهِدَ اِلَیْكَ عَامِلًا رَاعِیًا

RAAZEYAN WA BEMAA A’HEDA ELAYKA A’AMELAN RAA-E’YAN

you were satisfied whenever Allah was obeyed and you acted upon

لِمَا اسْتُحْفِظْتَ حَافِظًا لِمَا

LEMAS TOHFIZTA HAAFEZAN LEMAS

the covenant of Allah and observed it and you protected the trust when

اسْتُودِعْتَ مُبَلِّغًا مَا حُمِّلْتَ مُنْتَظِرًا مَا وُعِدْتَ

TOODE’TA MOBALLEGHAN MAA HUMMILTA MUNTAZERAN MAA WO-ID-TA

it was deposited with you and you conveyed whatever was entrusted to you. And you awaited what was promised to you.

وَاَشْهَدْ اَنَّكَ مَا اتَّقَیْتَ ضَارِعًا وَلَا

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA MATTAQAYTO ZAARE-A’N WALAA

And I bear witness that you did not fear (your enemy) due to disgrace and

اَمْسَكْتَ عَنْ حَقِّكَ جَازِعًا وَلَا

AMSAKTA A’N HAQQEKA JAAZE-A’N WALAA

neither did you desist from your right out of helplessness

اَحْجَمْتَ عَنْ مُجَاهَدَۃِ غَاصِبِیْكَ

AHJAMTA A’N MOJAAHADATE GHAASEBEEKA

nor did you avoid fighting against the usurpers out of cowardice

نَاكِلًا ولَا اَظْهَرْتَ الرِّضیٰ بِخِلَافِ

NAAKELAN WALAA AZHARTAR REZAA BEKHELAAFE

nor did you express satisfaction in contrary to

مَا یُرْضِی اللهَ مُدَاهِنًا وَلَا وَهَنْتَ لِمَا

MAA YURZILLAAHA MODAAHENAN WALAA WAHANTA LEMAA

what Allah is satisfied with out of flattery and you did not become disgraced or weak on account of

اَصَابَكَ فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللهِ وَلَا ضَعُفْتَ

ASAABEKA FEE SABEELILLAAHE WALA ZA-O’FAT

the tribulations that afflicted you in the way of Allah and

وَلَا اسْتَكَنْتَ عَنْ طَلَبِ حَقِّكَ

WALAS TAKANTA A’N TALABE HAQQEKA

neither did you observe weakness or slackness in the seeking of your right out of fear.

مُرَاقِبًا مَعَاذَ اللهِ اَنْ تَكُوْنَ كَذٰلِكَ

MORAAQEBAN MA’AZALLAAHE AN TAKOONA KAZAALEKA

I seek protection in Allah that it be like that. Rather, it was like this

بَلْ اِذْ ظُلِمْتَ اَحْتَسَبْتَ رَبَّكَ

BAL IZ ZO-LIMTA AHTASABTA RABBAKA

that whenever you were oppressed, you took into account (the satisfaction of) your Lord

وَفَوَّضْتَ اِلَیْهِ اَمْرَكَ وَذَكَرْتَهُمْ فَمَا

WA FAWWAZTA ELAYHE AMRAKA WA ZAKKARTAHUM FAMAZ

and you entrusted your affair to Him and you adviced them but they

اذَّكَرُوْا وَوَعَظْتَهُمْ فَمَا اتَّعَظُوْا

ZAKKARAOO WA WA-A’ZTAHUM FAMAT TA-A’ZOO

ignored it and you admonished them but they did not pay heed to it and

وَخَوَّفْتَهُمُ اللهَ فَمَا تَخَوَّفُوْا

WA KHAWWAFTAHOMULLAAHA FAMAA TAKHAWWAFOO

you tried to imbibe fear of Allah in them but they remain unaffected

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ یَا اَمِیْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA YA AMEERAL MOMINEENA

and I bear witness that you, O the commander of the faithful,

جَاهَدْتَ فِیْ اللهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهٖ حَتّٰی

JAAHADTA FILLAAHE HAQQA JEHAADEHI HATTAA

you fought in the way of Allah as it ought to be

دَعَاكَ اللهُ اِلٰی جِوَارِهٖ وَقَبَضَكَ اِلَیْهِ

DA-A’AKALLAAHO ELAA JEWAAREHI WA QABAZAKA ILAYHE

till the time Allah called you in His precints and He

بِاِخْتِیَارِهٖ وَاَلْزَمَ اَعْدَآئَكَ الْحُجَّۃَ

BE IKHTEYAAREHI WA ALZAMA A’ADAAA-EKAL HUJJATA

captured your soul by His choice and made incumbent His argument

بِقَتْلِهِمْ اِیَّاكَ لِتَكُوْنَ الْحُجَّۃُ لَكَ

BE QATLEHIM IYYAAKA LE TAKOONAL HUJJATO LAKA

against your enemies by their killing you

عَلَیْهِمْ مَعَ مَا لَكَ مِنَ الْحُجَجِ

A’LAYHIM MA-A’ MAALAKA MENAL HOJAJIL

so that it can be an argument for you against

الْبَالِغَۃِ عَلٰی جَمِیْعِ خَلْقِهٖ

BAALEGHATE A’LAA JAMEE-E’ KHALQEHI

them from the decisive arguments upon all the creation.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اَمِیْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YA AMEERAL MOMINEENA

Peace be on you, O the commander of the faithful,

عَبَدْتَ اللهَ مُخْلِصًا وَجَاهَدْتَ

A’BADTALLAAHAA MUKHLESAN WA JAAHADTA

you worshipped Allah sincerely and fought in the

فِی اللهِ صَابِرًا وَجُدْتَ بِنَفْسِكَ

FEELLAAE SAABERAN WA JUDTA BENAFSEKA

way of Allah with patience and sacrificed your life

مُحْتَسِبًا وَعَمِلْتَ بِكِتَابِهٖ وَاتَّبَعْتَ

MOHTASEBAN WA A’MILTA BE KETAABEHI WATTABA’TA

by the order of Allah and you acted upon His Book and followed the

سُنَّۃَ نَبِیِّهٖ وَاَقَمْتَ الصَّلٰوۃَ وَاٰتَیْتَ

SUNNATA NABIYYEHI WA AQAMTAS SALAATA WA AATAYTAZ

traditions of His Prophet and you established the prayer and gave

الزَّکٰوۃَ وَاَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ

ZAKAATA WA AMARTA BIL MA’ROOFE

the poor-due and enjoined the good

وَنَهَیْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ مَا اسْتَطَعْتَ

WA NAHAYTA A’NIL MUNKARE MAS TATA’TA

and forbade the evil as much as you could and you sought the

مُبْتَغِیًا مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ رَاغِبًا فِیْمَا وَعَدَ

MUBTAGHEYAN MA I’NDALLAAHE RAAGHEBAN FEEMAA WA-A’DAL

satisfaction of Allah and you yearned for the Promise

اللهُ لَا تَحْفِلُ بِالنَّوَآئِبِ وَلَا تَهِنُ

LAAHO LAA TAHFELO BINNAWAAA-EBE WALAA TAHENO

of Allah.You did not express cowardice in the

عِنْدَ الشَّدَآئِدِ وَلَا تُحْجِمُ عَنْ

I’NDASH SHADAAA-EDE WALAA TOHJEMO A’N

face of difficulties neither did you feel disgrace in tribulation nor did you make a retreat

مُحَارِبٍ اَفَكَ مَنْ نَسَبَ غَیْرَ ذٰلِكَ

MOHAAREBIN AFAKA MAN NASABA GHAYRA ZAALEKA

from any battle. Anyone who says contrary to this has certainly lied and has

اِلَیْكَ وَافْتَرٰی بَاطِلًا عَلَیْكَ وَاَوْلٰی

ELAYKA WAFTARAA BAATELAN A’LAYKA WA AWLAA

ascribed falsehood to you and he certainly perished who intentionally opposed you.

لِمَنْ عِنْدَ عَنْكَ لَقَدْ جَاهَدْتَ فِی اللهِ

LEMAN I’NDA A’NKA LAQAD JAAHADTA FEELLAAHE

Certainly you fought in the way of Allah

حَقَّ الْجِهَادِ وَصَبَرْتَ عَلَی الْاَذٰی

HAQQAL JEHAADE WA SABARTA A’LAL AZAA

as it ought to be and you exhibited the patience

صَبْرَ احْتِسَابٍ وَاَنْتَ اَوَّلُ مَنْ اٰمَنَ

SABRAH TESAABIN WA ANTA AWWALO MAN AAMANA

of an expectant person in the face of troubles and tortures while you were the first to believe

بِاللهِ وَصَلّٰی لَہٗ وَجَاهَدَ وَاَبْدٰی

BILLAAHE WA SALLAA LAHU WA JAAHADA WA ABADAA

in Allah and pray to Him and fight in His way. You manifested openly

صَفْحَتَہٗ فِیْ دَارِ الشِّرْكِ وَالْاَرْضُ

SAFHATAHU FEE DAARISH SHIRKE WAL ARZO

in the land of polytheism while the earth

مَشْحُوْنَۃٌ ضَلَالَةً وَالشَّیْطَانُ یُعْبَدُ

MASH HOONATUN ZALAALATAN WASH SHAYTAANO YO’BADO

was full of deviation and the Devil was worshipped

جَهْرَةً وَاَنْتَ الْقَآئِلُ لَا تَزِیْدُنِیْ

JAH-RATAN WA ANTAL QAAA-ELO LAA TAZEEDONEE

openly and you used to say that the multitude

كَثْرَۃُ النَّاسِ حَوْلِیْ عِزَّةً وَلَا تَفَرُّقُهُمْ

KASRATUN NAASE HAWLEE I’ZZATAN WALAA TAFARROQOHUM

of people around me will not increase my honour nor will their dispersion from me

عَنِّیْ وَحْشَةً وَلَوْ اَسْلَمَنِی النَّاسُ

A’NNEE WAHSHATAN WA LAW ASLAMANIN NAASO

cause me forloneness and if all the people would have submitted to me,

جَمِیْعًا لَمْ اَكُنْ مُتَضَرِّعًا اِعْتَصَمْتَ

JAMEEA’N LAM AKUN MOTAZARREA’N I-A’TASAMTA

I would not become humble (to them) You have clung

بِاللهِ فَعَزَزْتَ وَاٰثَرْتَ الْاٰخِرَۃَ

BILLAAHE FA A’ZAZTA WA AASARTAL AAKHERATA

unto Allah then He has granted you honour and you preferred the hereafter to this world

عَلَی الْاُوْلٰی فَزَهِدْتَ وَاَیَّدَكَ اللهُ

A’LAL OOLAA FAZAHEDAT WA AYYADAKALLAAHO

so you exhibited abstinence and Allah assisted you

وَهَدَاكَ وَاَخْلَصَكَ وَاجْتَبٰیكَ

WA HADAAKA WA AKHLASAKA WAJ TABAAKA

and guided you and made you devoted and chose you,

فَمَا تَنَاقَضَتْ اَفْعَالُكَ وَلَا اخْتَلَفَتْ

FAMAA TANAAQAZAT AF-A’ALOKA WALAKH TALAFAT

thus there was no discrepancy in your actions and no contradiction

اَقْوَالُكَ وَلَا تَقَلَّبَتْ اَحْوَالُكَ وَلَا

AQWAALOKA WALA TAQALLABAT AHWAALOKA WALAD

in your sayings and no alteration in your conditions.

ادَّعَیْتَ وَلَا افْتَرَیْتَ عَلَی اللهِ كَذِبًا

DA-A’YTA WALAAF TARAYTA A’LALLAAHE KAZEBAN

You did not claim nor lied against Allah

وَلَا شَرِهْتَ اِلَی الْحُطَامِ وَلَا

WALAA SHAREH-TA ELAL HOTAAME WALAA

and were not greedy for the wealth of this world and neither

دَنَّسَكَ الْاٰثَامُ وَلَمْ تَزَلْ عَلٰی بَیِّنَۃٍ

DANNASAKAL AASAAMO WALAM TAZAL A’LAA BAYYENATIN

did sins pollute you and you always remained on the Proof

مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَیَقِیْنٍ مِنْ اَمْرِكَ تَهْدِیْ

MIN RABBEKA WA YAQEENIN MIN AMREKA TAHDEE

from your Lord and certitude regarding your affair.

اِلَی الْحَقِّ وَاِلٰی صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِیْمٍ

ELAL HAQQE WA ELAA SERAATIN MUSTAQEEMIN

You guided towards the truth and the straight path.

اَشْهَدُ شَهَادَۃَ حَقٍّ وَاُقْسِمُ بِاللهِ

ASH-HADO SAHAADATA HAQQIN WA UKSEMO BILLAAHE

I bear witness, a rightful witnessing, and a swear by Allah

قَسَمَ صِدْقٍ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلَہٗ

QASAMA SIDQIN ANNA MOHAMMADIN WA AALAHU

with a true swear that Mohammad and his progeny

صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَیْهِمْ سَادَاتُ الْخَلْقِ

SALAWAATUL LAAHE A’LAYHIM SAADAATUL KHALQE

are the leaders of the creation

وَاَنَّكَ مَوْلَایَ وَمَوْلَی الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

WA ANNAKA MAWLAAYA WA MAWLAL MOMINEENA

and that you are my master and the master of the believers

وَاَنَّكَ عَبْدُ اللهِ وَوَلِیُّهٗ وَاَخُوْ

WA ANNAKA A’BDULLAAHE WA WALLIYYOHU WA AKHUR

and that you are the servant of Allah and His friend and the brother

الرَّسُوْلِ وَوَصِیُّہٗ وَوَارِثُہٗ وَاَنَّہٗ

RASOOLE WA WASEEYOHU WA WAARESOHU WA ANNAHUL

of the Apostle and his vicegerent and his inheritor and that he

الْقَآئِلُ لَكَ وَالَّذِیْ بَعَثَنِیْ بِالْحَقِّ مَا

QAAA-ELO LAKA WALLAZEE BA-A’SANEE BIL HAQQE MAA

said to you:I swear by the

اٰمَنَ بِیْ مَنْ كَفَرَ بِكَ وَلَا اَقَرَّ

AAMANA BEE MAN KAFARA BEKA WALAA AQARRA

One Who has raised me with the truth, he does not believe in me who denies you and he does not affirm

بِاللهِ مَنْ جَحَدَكَ وَقَدْ ضَلَّ مَنْ

BILLAAHE MAN JAHADAKA WAQAD ZALLA MAN

in Allah who rejects you and certainly he is deviated

صَدَّ عَنْكَ وَلَمْ یَهْتَدِ اِلَی اللهِ وَلَا

SADDA A’NKA WALAM YAHTADE ILALLAAHE WALAA

who digresses from you and he is not guided towards Allah and towards

اِلَیَّ مَنْ لَا یَهْتَدِیْ بِكَ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ

ELLAYYA MAN LAAYAHTADEE BEKA WA HOWA QAWLO

me who is not guided towards you and this is the saying of

رَبِّیْ عَزَّوَجَلَّ وَاِنِّیْ لَغَفَّارٌ لِمَنْ تَابَ

RABBEE A’ZZAWAJALLA WA INNEE LAGHAFFAARUN LEMAN TAABA

my Lord, the Honoured, the Majestic. "And surely I forgive

وَاٰمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدٰی

WA AAMANA WA A’MELA SAALEHAN SUMMAH TADAA

those who repent and believe and do good and then he is guided"

اِلٰی وِلَایَتِكَ مَوْلَایَ فَضْلُكَ لَا

ELAA WELAAYATEKA MAWLAAYA FAZLOKA LAA

towards your mastership. O my master, your excellence

یَخْفٰی وَنُوْرُكَ لَا یُطْفَأُ وَاَنَّ مَنْ

YAKHFAA WA NOOROKA LAA YUTFA-O WA ANNA MAN

cannot be concealed and your light cannot be extinguished and the one

جَحَدَكَ الظَّلُوْمُ الْاَشْقٰی

JAHADAKAZ ZALOOMUL ASHQAA

who denies you is an excessive oppressor and the most unfortunate one.

مَوْلَایَ اَنْتَ الْحُجَّۃُ عَلَی الْعِبَادِ

MAWLAAYA ANTAL HUJJATO A’LAL E’BAADE

O my master, you are the proof upon the servants and the guide

وَالْهَادِیْ اِلَی الرَّشَادِ وَالْعُدَّۃُ لِلْمَعَادِ

WAL HAADEE ELAR RASHAADE WAL U’DDATO LIL MA-A’ADE

towards the right course and the support concerning the hereafter.

مَوْلَایَ لَقَدْ رَفَعَ اللهُ فِی الْاُولٰی

MAULAYA LAQAD RAFA-A’LLAAHO FIL OOLAA

O my master, surely Allah has raised your status in this world

مَنْزِلَتَكَ وَاَعْلٰی فِیْ الْاٰخِرَۃِ

MANZELATEKA WA A’ALAA FIL AAKHERATE

and has elevated your grade in the hereafter and has

دَرَجَتَكَ وَبَصَّرَكَ مَا عَمِیَ عَلٰی مَنْ

DARAJATAKA WA BASSARAKA MA A’MEYA A’LAA MAN

made you see what your enemies are blind

خَالَفَكَ وَحَالَ بَیْنَكَ وَبَیْنَ مَوَاهِبِ

KHAALAFAKA WA HAALA BAYNAKA WA BAYNA MAWAAHEBIL

to and came between you and the bounties of Allah

اللهِ لَكَ فَلَعَنَ اللهُ مُسْتَحِلِّیْ الْحُرْمَۃِ

LAAHE LAKA FA LA’NALLAAHO MUSTAHILLIL HURMATE

for you. Then may Allah curse those who misappropriated your honour

مِنْكَ وَذَآئِدِی الْحَقِّ عَنْكَ

MINKA WA ZAAA-EDIL HAQQE A’NKA

and distanced your right from you

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّهُمُ الْاَخْسَرُوْنَ الَّذِیْنَ

WA ASH-HADO ANNHOMUL AKHSAROONAL LAZEENA

and I bear witness that they

تَلْفَحُ وُجُوْهَهُمُ النَّارُ وَهُمْ فِیْهَا كَالِحُوْنَ

TALFAHO WOJOOHAHOMUN NAARO WA HUM FEEHA KAALEHOONA

are the most severe losers, those whose faces will be scorched in Hell-fire and they will gloomily abide therein.

وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ مَا اَقْدَمْتَ وَلَا

WA ASH-HADO ANNAKA MAA AQDAMTA WALAA

And I bear witness that you did not make

اَحْجَمْتَ وَلَا نَطَقْتَ وَلَا اَمْسَكْتَ

AHJAMTA WALAA NATQ-TA WALAA AMSAKTA

any endeavour or desisted from anything nor said anything or withheld anything

اِلَّا بِاَمْرٍ مِنَ اللهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ قُلْتَ

ILLAA BE AMRIN MENALLAAHE WA RASOOLEHI QULTA

except by the order of Allah and His Apostle. You said:

وَالَّذِیْ نَفْسِیْ بِیَدِهٖ لَقَدْ نَظَرَ اِلَیَّ

WAL LAZEE NAFSEE BEYADEHI LAQAD NAZARA ILAYYA

"I swear by the One in Whose hand is my soul

رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ

RASOOLULLAAHE SALLALLAAHO ALAYHE WA AALEHI

that the Apostle of Allah; peace be upon him and his family ,

اَضْرِبُ السَّیْفَ قُدْمًا فَقَالَ یَا عَلِیُّ

AZREBO BISSAYFA QUDMAN FAQAALA YAA A’LIYYO

was looking at me when I was fighting with the sword in front of him. ‘O Ali!

اَنْتَ مِنِّیْ بِمَنْزِلَۃِ هَارُوْنَ مِنْ مُوْسٰی

ANTA MINNEE BE MANZELATEHI HAAROONA MIN MOOSA

You are to me as Haroon was to Moosa

اِلَّا اَنَّہٗ لَا نَبِیَّ بَعْدِیْ وَاُعْلِمُكَ اَنَّ

ILLAA ANNAHU LAA NABIYYA BA’DEE WA O’LEMOKA ANNA

except that there is no Prophet after me and I inform you that

مَوْتَكَ وَحَیٰوتَكَ مَعِیْ وَعَلٰی سُنَّتِیْ

MAWTAKA WA HAYAATAKA MA-E’E WA A’LAA SUNNATEE

your death and your life is with me and on my tradition,

فَوَ اللهِ مَا كَذِبْتُ وَلَا كُذِبْتُ وَلَا

FAWALLAAHE MAA KAZIBTO WALAA KOZIBTO WALAA

then by Allah, I have never lied nor have even been lied to and neither

ضَلَلْتُ وَلَا ضُلَّ بِیْ وَلَا نَسِیْتُ مَا

ZALALTO WALAA ZULLA BEE WALAA NASAYTO MAA

have I been deviated nor has anyone been deviated by me and neither have I forgotten

عَهِدَ اِلَیَّ رَبِّیْ وَاِنِّیْ لَعَلٰی بَیِّنَۃٍ مِنْ

A’HEDA ELAYYA RABBEE WA INNEE LA-A’LAA BAYYENATIN MIN

what my Lord has taken as covenant from me and I am on a proof from

رَبِّیْ بَیَّنَهَا لِنَبِیِّهٖ وَبَیَّنَهَا النَّبِیُّ لِیْ

RABBEE BAYYANAHAA LENABIYYEHI WA BAYYANAHAN NABIYYO LEE

my Lord which He has explained to His Prophet and the Prophet has in turn explained to me

وَاِنِّیْ لَعَلَی الطَّرِیْقِ الْوَاضِحِ اَلْفِظْهُ

WA INNEE LA-A’TTAREEQIL WAAZEHE ALFEZHO

and surely I am on a clear path which

لَفْظًا صَدَقْتَ وَاللهِ وَقُلْتَ الْحَقَّ

LAFZAN SADAQTA WALLAAHE WA QULTAL HAQQA

I articulate to you. I swear by Allah! You have spoken the truth and have said correctly.

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ مَنْ سَاوَاكَ بِمَنْ نَاوَاكَ

FA LA’NALLAAHO MAN SAAWAAKA BEMAN NAAWAAKA

Then may Allah curse those who equate your enemies with you

وَاللهُ جَلَّ اسْمُہٗ یَقُوْلُ هَلْ یَسْتَوِی

WALLAAHO JALLAS MOHU YAQOOLO HAL YASTAWIL

while Allah, Honoured be His name, has said: Are those

الَّذِیْنَ یَعْلَمُوْنَ وَالَّذِیْنَ لَا یَعْلَمُوْنَ

LAZEENA YA’LAMOONA WAL LAZEENA LAA YA’LAMOONA

who know equal to those who don’t?

فَلَعَنَ اللهُ مَنْ عَدَلَ بِكَ مَنْ فَرَضَ

FA LA’NAL LAAHO MAN A’DALA BEKA MAN FARAZAL

Then curse of Allah be upon the one who has equated with you the one on whom

اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وِلَایَتَكَ وَاَنْتَ وَلِیُّ اللهِ

LAAHO A’LAYHE WELAAYATAKA WA ANTA WALIYUL LAAHE

your mastership has been made obligatory and you are the friend of Allah

وَاَخُوْ رَسُوْلِهٖ وَالذَّآبُّ عَنْ دِیْنِهٖ

WA AKHOO RASOOLEHI WAZ-ZAAAB-BO A’N DEENEHI

and the brother of His Apostle and the defender of His religion

وَالَّذِیْ نَطَقَ الْقُرْاٰنُ بِتَفْضِیْلِهٖ

WAL LAZEE NATAQAL QUR-AANO BE TAFZEELEHI

and the one whose virtues have been extolled by the Quran.

قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی وَفَضَّلَ اللهُ

QAALALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA WA FAZZALLALLAAHUL

Allah, the High, has said. "And Allah has excelled the warriors

الْمُجَاهِدِیْنَ عَلَی الْقَاعِدِیْنَ اَجْرًا

MOJAAHEDEENA A’LAL QAA-E’DEENA AJRAN

over the sitting ones with a great

عَظِیْمًا دَرَجَاتٍ مِنْهُ وَمَغْفِرَةً

A’ZEEMAN DARAJAATIN MINHO WA MAGHFERATAN

reward and grades, forgiveness and

وَرَحْمَةً وَكَانَ اللهُ غَفُوْرًا رَحِیْمًا

WA RAHMATAN WA KAANALLAAHO GHAFOORAN RAHEEMAN

mercy from His side and Allah is forgiving, merciful

وَقَالَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی اَجَعَلْتُمْ سِقَایَۃَ

WA QAALALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA AJA-A’LTUM SEQAAYATAL

and Allah, the Elevated, has said: Do you consider the one who provides

الْحَآجِّ وَعِمَارَۃَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ

HAAJJE WA E’MAARATAL MASJEDIL HARAAME

water to the pilgrims and the one who constructs the Sacred Mosque,

كَمَنْ اٰمَنَ بِاللهِ وَالْیَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ

KAMAN AAMANA BILLAAHE WAL YAWMIL AAKHERE

equal to the one who believes in Allah and the Last Day

وَجَاهَدَ فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللهِ لَا یَسْتَوْنَ عِنْدَ

WA JAAHADA FEE SABEELILLAAHE LAA YASTAWNA I’NDAL

and fights in the way of Allah, they are not equal near

اللهِ وَاللهُ لَا یَهْدِی الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِیْنَ

LAAHE WALLAAHO LAA YAHDEEL QAWMAZ ZAALEMEENAL

Allah and Allah does not guide the oppressive people.

الَّذِیْنَ آمَنُوْا وَهَاجَرُوْا وَجَاهَدُوْا

LAZEENA A AAMANOO WA HAAJAROO WA JAAHADOO

Those who believed and migrated and fought

فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللهِ بِاَمْوَالِهِمْ وَاَنْفُسِهِمْ

FEE SABEELILLAAHE BE AMWAALEHIM WA ANFOSEHIM

in the way of Allah with their wealth and lives,

اَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِنْدَ اللهِ وَاُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ

A-A’ZAMO DARAJATAN I’NDALLAAHE WA OOLAAA-EKA HOMUL

they will have an esteemed status near Allah and they will be the

الْفَآئِزُوْنَ یُبَشِّرُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِرَحْمَۃٍ مِنْهُ

FAAA-EZOONA YOBASH SHEROHUM RABBOHUM BERAHMATIN MINHO

successful ones. Their Lord gives them the glad tidings of mercy from Him

وَرِضْوَانٍ وَجَنَّاتٍ فِیْهَا نَعِیْمٌ مُقِیْمٌ

WARIZWAANIN WA JANNAATIN FEEHA NA-E’EMUN MOQEEMUN

and satisfaction and the gardens in which are everlasting bounties, abiding

خَالِدِیْنَ فِیْهَا اَبَدًا اِنَّ اللهَ عِنْدَہٗ اَجْرٌ عَظِیْمٌ

KHAALEDEENA FEEHAA ABADAN INNAL LAAHA I’NDAHU AJRUN A’ZEEMUN

therein forever. Surely, near Allah is a great reward (for them).

اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ الْمَخْصُوصُ بِمِدْحَۃِ

ASH-HADO ANNAKAL MAKHSOOSO BE MIDHATIL

I bear witness that you have been particularized for the Praise

اللهِ الْمُخْلِصُ لِطَاعَۃِ اللهِ لَمْ تَبْغِ

LAAHEIL MUKHLESO LETAA-A’TILLAAHE LAM TABGHE

of Allah, the sincere one in the obedience of Allah, you did not desire anything in exchange

بِالْهُدٰی بَدَلًا وَلَمْ تُشْرِكْ بِعِبَادَۃِ

BIL HODAA BADALAN WALAM TUSHRIK BE E’BAADATE

of guidance and did not associate anybody in the worship

رَبِّكَ اَحَدًا وَاَنَّ اللهَ تَعَالَی اسْتَجَابَ

RABBEKA AHADAN WA ANNALLAAHA TA-A’ALAS TAJAABA

of Your Lord. And that Allah accepted the forgiveness of

لِنَبِیِّهٖ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ فِیْكَ

LENABEEYEHI SALLALLAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI FEEKA

His Prophet, blessings of Allah be upon him and his progeny, concerning you

دَعْوَتَہٗ ثُمَّ اَمَرَہٗ بِاِظْهَارِ مَا اَوْلَاكَ

DA’WATAHU SUMMA AMARAHU BE IZHAARE MAA AWLAAKA

and then He ordered him to make public your mastership

لِاُمَّتِهٖ اِعْلآٰءً لِشَاْنِكَ وَاِعْلَانًا

LE UMMATEHI EA’LAAA-AN LE SHAANEKA WA EA’LAANAN

in his nation, as an elevation of your status and an announcement

لِبُرْهَانِكَ وَدَحْضًا لِلْاَبَاطِیْلِ وَقَطْعًا

LE BURHAANEKA WA DAHZAN LILABAATEELE WAQAT-A’N

for your proof and a demolition of falsehood

لِلْمَعَّاذِیْرِ فَلَمَّا اَشْفَقَ مِنْ فِتْنَۃِ

LILMA-A’A-ZEERE FALAMMAA ASHFAQA MIN FITNATIL

and to cut out the made-up excuses. Then when he feared the mischief

الْفَاسِقِیْنَ وَاتَّقٰی فِیْكَ الْمُنَافِقِیْنَ

FAASEQEENA WATTAQAA FEEKAL MONAAFEQEENA

of the transgressors and was apprehensive for you about the hypocrites,

اَوْحیٰ اِلَیْهِ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ

AWHAA ELAYHE RABBUL A’ALAMEENA

the Lord of the Universe revealed unto him,

یَآ اَیُّهَا الرَّسُوْلُ بَلِّغْ مَآ اُنْزِلَ اِلَیْكَ

YAA AYYOHARRASOOLO BALLIGH MAA UNZELA ELAYKA

"O Apostle! Convey what has come down to you from

مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَاِنْ لَمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ

MIN RABBEKA WA IN LAM TAF-A’L FAMAA BALLAGHTA

your Lord and if you do it not, then you have not conveyed

رِسَالَتَہٗ وَاللهُ یَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ

RESAALATAHU WALLAAHO YA’SEMOKA MENANNAASE

the message and Allah will protect you from the people.

فَوَضَعَ عَلٰی نَفْسِهٖ اَوْزَارَ الْمَسِیْرِ

FAWAZA-A’ A’LAA NAFSEHI AWZAARAL MASEERE

Then he took upon him the burden of travelling

وَنَهَضَ فِیْ رَمْضَآءِ الْهَجِیْرِ

WA NAHAZA FEE RAMZAAA-ILHAJEERA

and in the daunting heat of noon,

فَخَطَبَ وَاَسْمَعَ وَنَادٰی فَاَبْلَغَ ثُمَّ

FA KHATABA WA ASMA-A’ WA NAADAA FA ABLAGHA SUMMA

then he delivered a sermon audible to the people, and conveyed the message to them.

سَئَلَهُمْ اَجْمَعَ فَقَالَ هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ

SA-ALAHUM AJMA-A’ FAQAALA HAL BALLAGHTO

Then he asked them all, Have I conveyed the message?

فَقَالُوا اللّٰهُمَّ بَلٰی فَقَالَ اللّٰهُمَّ

FAQAALOO ALLAAHUMMA BALAA FAQAALALLAAHUMMASH

They replied, ‘Yes, by Allah! He then said, ‘O Allah!

اشْهَدْ ثُمَّ قَالَ اَلَسْتُ اَوْلٰی

HAD SUMMA QAALA ALASTO AWLAA

You bear witness. Then he said, "Am I not having

بِالْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ مِنْ اَنْفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوْا بَلٰی

BIL MOMINEENA MIN ANFOSEHIM FAQAALOO

more authority over the believers then they have on their ownselves?’ They replied, ‘Yes.’

فَاَخَذَ بِیَدِكَ وَقَالَ مَنْ كُنْتُ مَوْلَاهُ

FAAKHZA BEYADEKA WAQAALAMAN KUNTO MAULAAHO

Then he held your hand and said, ‘Of whomsoever I am the Master,

فَهٰذَا عَلِیٌّ مَوْلَاهُ اَللّٰهُمَّ وَالِ مَنْ

FAHAAZA ALIYUN MAULAAHO ALLAAHUMMA WAALE MAN

this Ali is his master. O Allah! You befriend

وَالَاهُ وَعَادِ مَنْ عَادَاهُ وَانْصُرْ مَنْ

WALAAHO WA’’ade MAN AADAAHO WA ANSUR MAN

him who befriends Ali and You bear enmity with the one who bears enmity with Ali and You help him who

نَصَرَہٗ وَاخْذُلْ مَنْ خَذَلَہٗ فَمَا اٰمَنَ

NASRARAHU WA AKHZUL MAN KHAZALAHU FAMAA AMANA

helps Ali and You forsake the one who forsakes Ali. Then none believed

بِمَا اَنْزَلَ اللهُ فِیْكَ عَلٰی نَبِیِّهٖ اِلَّا

BEMA ANZALA LLAAHO FEEKA A’LAA NABEEYEHI ILLA

in what Allah sent down upon His Apostle

قَلِیْلٌ وَلَا زَادَ اَكْثَرَهُمْ غَیْرَ تَخْسِیْرٍ

QALEELUN WALA ZAADA AKSARAHUM GHAIRA TAKHSEERIN

concerning you except a few and the majority of them gained nothing but loss

وَلَقَدْ اَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی فِیْكَ مِنْ

WALAQAD ANZALLALLAH TA’ALAA FEEKA MIN

while surely Allah has send down verses concerning

قَبْلُ وَهُمْ كَارِهُوْنَ یَآ اَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ

QABLOWA HUM KAAREHOONA YA AYYOHAL LAZEENA

you previously while they were averse to it: "O you who

اٰمَنُوْا مَنْ یَّرْتَدَّ مِنْكُمْ عَنْ دِیْنِهٖ

AAMANOO MAN YARTADDA MINKUM ‘ANDEENEHI

believe! Whomsoever of you who turns away from his religion,

فَسَوْفَ یَاْتِیْ اللهُ بِقَوْمٍ یُحِبُّهُمْ

FASAWFA YA YAATILLAAHO BE QAWMIN YOHIBBOHUM

(he will not harm Allah in any way) for then surely Allah will bring forth a group whom He will love

وَیُحِبُّوْنَہٗ اَذِلَّۃٍ عَلَی الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ اَعِزَّۃٍ

WA YOHIBBOONAHU AZILLATIN A’LAL MOMINEENA A-I’ZZATIN

and they will love Him. They will be humble before the believers and very severe

عَلَی الْكَافِرِیْنَ یُجَاهِدُوْنَ فِیْ سَبِیْلِ

A’LAL KAAFEREENA YOJAAHEDOONA FEE SABEELIL

upon the disbelievers. They will fight in the way of

اللهِ وَلَا یَخَافُوْنَ لَوْمَۃَ لاآئِمٍ

LAAHE WALAA YAKHAAFOONA LAWMATA LAAA-EMIN

Allah and will not fear the slandering of any slanderer (in the way of Allah).

ذٰلِكَ فَضْلُ اللهِ یُؤْتِیْهِ مَنْ یَشَّآءُ

ZAALEKA FAZLULLAAHE YO’TEEHI MAN YASHAAA-O

That is the Grace of Allah, He grants it to whomsoever

وَاللهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِیْمٌ اِنَّمَا وَلِیُّكُمُ اللهُ

WALLAAHO WAASE-U’N ALEEMUN INNAMAA WALEEYOKOMULLAAHO

He wishes. And Allah is Abundant, All Knowing. Surely, your Guardian is Allah

وَرَسُوْلُہٗ وَالَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا الَّذِیْنَ

WA RASOOLOHU WALLAZEENA AAAMANUL LAZEENA

and His Apostle and those who

یُقِیْمُوْنَ الصَّلٰوۃَ وَیُؤْتُوْنَ الزَّکٰوۃَ

YOQEEMOONASSALAATA WA YOA-TOONAZ ZAKAATA

establish prayer and offer poor-due

وَهُمْ رَاكِعُوْنَ وَمَنْ یَتَوَلَّ اللهَ

WA HUM RAAKEO’ONA WA MAN YATAWWALALLAAHA

while they are bowing and whomsoever takes Allah

وَرَسُوْلَہٗ وَالَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا فَاِنَّ حِزْبَ

WA RASOOLAHU WAL LAZEENA AAAMANU FA-INNA HIZBAL

and His Apostle and those who believe as guardian, then surely the group of

اللهِ هُمُ الْغَالِبُوْنَ رَبَّنَا اٰمَنَّا بِمَا

LAAHE HOMUL GHAALEBOONA RABBANAA AAMANNA BEMAA

Allah will be successful. O Allah! We believe in what

اَنْزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُوْلَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ

ANZALTA WATTABA’NAR RASOOLA FAKTUBNAA MA-A’SH

You have revealed and we followed the Prophet, then include us among

الشَّاهِدِیْنَ رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوْبَنَا بَعْدَ

SHAAHEDEENA RABBANAA LAA TOZIGH QOLOOBANA BA’DA

the witnesses. O Our Lord, do not deviate our hearts after You

اِذْ هَدَیْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ

IZ HADAYTANAA WAHAB LANAA MIN LADUNKA

have guided us and grant us

رَحْمَةً اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْوَهَابُ

RAHMATAN INNAKA ANTAL WAHHAABO

Mercy from Your side, Surely You are the Abundant Giver.

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّا نَعْلَمُ اَنَّ هٰذَا هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ

ALLAAHUMMA INNAA NA’LAMO ANNA HAAZAA HWAL HAQQO MIN

O Allah, we know that this is the truth from

عِنْدِكَ فَالْعَنْ مَنْ عَارَضَہٗ وَاسْتَكْبَرَ

I’NDEKA FAL-A’N MAN A’ARAZAHU WASTAKBARA

Your side then curse those who oppose it and exhibit haughtiness concerning it

وَكَذَّبَ بِهٖ وَكَفَرَ وَسَیَعْلَمُ الَّذِیْنَ

WA KAZZABA BEHI WA KAFARA WA SAYA’LAMUL LAZEENA

and reject it and disbelieve in it and soon

ظَلَمُوْا اَیَّ مُنْقَلَبٍ یَنْقَلِبُونَ

ZALAMOO AYYA MUNQALABIN YANQALEBOONA

the oppressors shall know where they will be transferred to.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكَ یَا اَمِیْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

ASSALAAMO A’LAYKA YA AMEERAL MOMINEENA

Peace be on you, O the leader of the faithful

وَسَیِّدَ الْوَصِیِّیْنَ وَاَوَّلَ الْعَابِدِیْنَ

WA SAYYEDAL WASEEYYEENA WA AWWALAL A’ABEDEENA

and the chief of the vicegerent and the first of the worshippers

وَاَزْهَدَ الزَّاهِدِیْنَ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللهِ

WA AZHADAZ ZAAHEDEENA WA RAHMATULLAAHE

and the most abstinent one and the Mercy of Allah

وَبَرَكَاتُہٗ وَصَلَوَاتُہٗ وَتَحِیَّاتُہٗ اَنْتَ

WA BARAKAATOHU WA SALAWAATOHU WA TAHIYYAATOHU ANTA

and His Blessings and His Salutations and His Greetings. You

مُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ عَلٰی حُبِّهٖ مِسْكِیْنًا

MUT-E’MUT TA-A’AMA A’LAA HUBBEHI MISKEENAN

fed the disolates, the orphans

وَیَتِیْمًا وَاَسِیْرًا لِوَجْهِ اللهِ لَا تُرِیْدُ

WA YATEEMAN WA ASEERAN LEWAJHILLAAHE LAA TOREEDO

and the captive in the love of Allah, seeking His pleasure, you did

مِنْهُمْ جَزَآءً وَلَا شُكُوْرًا وَفِیْكَ

MINHUM JAZAAA-AN WALAA SHOKOORAN WA FEEKA

not desire from them any recompense or thanks and concerning you

اَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی وَیُؤْثِرُوْنَ عَلٰٓی

ANZALALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA WA YOASEROONA A’LAA

Allah, the Exalted has revealed, ‘And they give preference

اَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَۃٌ

ANFOSEHIM WA LAW KAANA BEHIM KHASAASATUN

to others over themselves even though their resources scarce.’

وَمَنْ یُّوْقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهٖ فَاُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ

WA MAN YOOQA SHO-HA NAFSEHI FA AOOLAAA-EKA HOMUL

And one who guards against the stinginess of his self, then these are

الْمُفْلِحُوْنَ وَاَنْتَ الْكَاظِمُ لِلْغَیْظِ

MUFLEHOONA ANTAL KAAZEMO LILGHAIZE

the successful ones and you were having control over anger

وَالْعَافِیْ عَنِ النَّاسِ وَاللهُ یُحِبُّ

WAL A’AFEE ANIN-NAASE WAL LAAHO YOHIBBUL

and you were forgiving the people and Allah loves

الْمُحْسِنِیْنَ وَاَنْتَ الصَّابِرُ فِیْ

MOHSENEENA WA ANTASSAABERO FIL

those who do good (to others) and you were patient

الْبَاْسَآءِ وَالضَّرَّآءِ وَحِیْنَ الْبَاْسِ

BAA-SAAA-E WAZ ZARRAAA-E WA HEENA L BAASE

in difficulties and troubles and misfortunes.

وَاَنْتَ الْقَاسِمُ بِالسَّوِیَّۃِ وَالْعَادِلُ

WA ANTAL QAASEMO BIS SAWIYYATE WAL A’ADELO

And you were equitable in distribution and just

فِیْ الرَّعِیَّۃِ وَالْعَالِمُ بِحُدُوْدِ اللهِ مِنْ

FIR RA-E’YYATE WAL A’ALEMO BE HODOODILLAAHE MIN

among the subjects and the most knowledgeable the limits imposed by Allah of

جَمِیْعِ الْبَرِیَّۃِ وَاللهُ تَعَالٰی اَخْبَرَ عَمَّا

JAMEE-I’L BARIYYATE WALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA AKHBARA A’MMAA

all the people and Allah has informed one and all concerning the

اَوْلَاكَ مِنْ فَضْلِهٖ بِقَوْلِهٖ اَفَمَنْ كَانَ

AWLAAKA MIN FAZLEHI BE QAWLEHI AFAMAN KAANA

superiority He has granted you through His saying. Is the one who

مُؤْمِنًا كَمَنْ كَانَ فَاسِقًا لَا یَسْتَوٗنَ

MOMENAN KAMAN KAANA FAASEQAN LAA YASTA-OONA

is a believer akin to the one who is a transgressor. They are not equal.

اَمَّا الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا

AMMAL LAZEENA AAAMANOO WA A’MELUS

As for those who believe and do good,

الصَّالِحَاتِ فَلَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ الْمَاْوٰی

SAALEHAATE FALAHUM JANNAATUL MAAWA

then for them are the abodes of Paradise,

نُزُلًا بِمَا كَانُوْا یَعْلَمُوْنَ وَاَنْتَ

NOZOLAN BEMA KAANO YA’LAMOONA WA ANTAL

a recompense for what they have done and have been

الْمَخْصُوْصُ بِعِلْمِ التَّنْزِیْلِ وَحُكْمِ

MAKHSOOSO BE I’LMIT TANZEELE WA HUKMIT

specialised for knowledge of revelation and the wisdom

التَّاوِیْلِ وَنَصِّ الرَّسُوْلِ وَلَكَ

TAAWEELE WA NASSIR RASOOLE WA LAKAL

of interpretation and the explicit mention by the Apostle and for you

الْمَوَاقِفُ الْمَشْهُوْدَۃُ وَالْمَقَامَاتُ

MAWAAQEFUL MASHOODATO WAL MAQAAMAATUL

are distinguished stations and renowned positions and

الْمَشْهُوْرَۃُ وَالْاَیَّامُ الْمَذْكُوْرَۃُ یَوْمَ

MASHHOORATO WAL AYYAAMUL MAZKOORATO YAWMA

the celebrated days, the day

بَدْرٍ وَیَوْمَ الْاَحْزَابِ اِذْ زَاغَتِ

BADRIN WA YAWMAL AHZAABE IZ ZAAGHATIL

of Badr and the day of Ahzaab when the

الْاَبْصَارُ وَبَلَغَتِ الْقُلُوْبُ الْحَنَاجِرَ

ABSAARO WA BALAGHATIL QOLOOBUL HANAAJERA

eyes had severed and the hearts rose

وَتَظُنُّوْنَ بِاللهِ الظُّنُوْنَ هُنَالِكَ ابْتُلِیَ

WA TAZUNNOONA BILLAAHIZ ZONOONAA HONAALEKAB TOLEYAL

upto the throats and you started having opinions about Allah, there was the examination

الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ وَزُلْزِلُوا زِلْزَالًا شَدِیْدًا

MUMINOONA WA ZULZELOO ZILZAALAN SHAHEEDAN

of the believers and they were shaken with a vigorous shaking

وَاِذْ یَقُولُ الْمُنَافِقُوْنَ وَالَّذِیْنَ فِیْ

WA IZ YAQOOLUL MONAAFEQOONA WAL LAZEENA FEE

when the hypocrites and those in

قُلُوْبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ مَا وَعَدَنَا اللهُ

QOLOOBEHIM MARAZUN MAA WA-A’DANALLAAHO

whose hearts was sickness said: Allah and His Apostle have not promised us

وَرَسُوْلُہٗ اِلَّا غُرُوْرًا وَاِذْ قَالَتْ طَآئِفَۃٌ

WA RASOOLOHU ILLAA GHOROORAN WA IZ QAALAT TAA-EFATUN

anything except deception. When a group from among them said,

مِنْهُمْ یَآ اَهْلَ یَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ

MINHUM YAA AHLA YASREBA LAA MOKAAMA LAKUM

‘O the people of Medina! There is no play of stay for you here,

فَارْجِعُوْا وَیَسْتَاْذِنُ فَرِیْقٌ مِنْهُمُ

FARJE-O’O WA YASTAAZENO FAREEQUN MINHOMUN

then return back, while a group of them

النَّبِیَّ یَقُوْلُوْنَ اِنَّ بُیُوْتَنَا عَوْرَۃٌ وَمَا

NABEEYYA YAQOOLOONA INNA BOYOOTANAA A’WRATUN WAMAA

were saying: Surely our houses are empty even though they were not,

هِیَ بِعَوْرَۃٍ اِنْ یُّرِیْدُوْنَ اِلَّا فِرَارًا

HEYA BE A’WRATIN IN YOREEDOONA ILLAA FERAARAN

they only desired to run away.

وَقَالَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی وَلَمَّارَ اَی الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ

WA QAALALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA WALAMMAA RA-AL MOMENOONAL

And Allah, the High, said, ‘And when the believers

الْاَحْزَابَ قَالُوْا هٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا اللهُ

AHZAABA QAALOO HAAZAA MAA WA A’DANALLAAHO

saw the allies, they said. That is what Allah

وَرَسُوْلُہٗ وَصَدَقَ اللهُ وَرَسُوْلُہٗ وَمَا

WA RASOOLOHU WA SADAQALLAAHO WA MAA

and His Apostle had promised us and Allah and His Apostle

زَادَهُمْ اِلَّا اِیْمَانًا وَتَسْلِیْمًا فَقَتَلْتَ

ZAADAHUM ILLA EEMANAN WA TASLEEMAN FAQATALAT

have spoken the truth and their faith and submission

عَمْرَهُمْ وَهَزَمْتَ جَمْعَهُمْ وَرَدَّ اللهُ

A’MRAHUM WA HAZAMTA JAM-A’HUM WA RADDAL LAAHUL

was augmented on account of it, then you killed Amr and defeated their armies and Allah

الَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا بِغَیْظِهِمْ لَمْ یَنالُوْا

LAZEENA KAFAROO BE GHAIZEHIM LAM YANAALOO

made the disbelievers return in anger, they did not reach to any

خَیْرًا وَكَفَی اللهُ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ الْقِتَالَ

KHAIRAN WA KAFALLAAHUL MOMINEENA QETAALA

goodness and Allah is Sufficient for the believers

وَكَانَ اللهُ قَوِیًّا عَزِیْزًا وَیَوْمَ اُحُدٍ اِذْ

WA KAANALLAAHO QAWIYYAN AZEEZAN WA YAWMA OHADIN IZ

in fighting and Allah is Powerful, Honoured and on the Day of Ohad when

یُصْعِدُوْنَ وَلَا یَلْوٗنَ عَلٰی اَحَدٍ

YUS-E’DOONA WALAA YAL-OONA A’LAA AHADIN

the people climbed atop the mountains and did not turn back to look at anyone

وَالرَّسُوْلُ یَدْعُوْهُمْ فِیْ اُخْرٰهُمْ

WAR RASOOLO YAD-O’OHUM FEE UKHRAAHUM

even though the Apostle was calling them from behind and you were repelling the

وَاَنْتَ تَذُوْدُ بُهَمَ الْمُشْرِكِیْنَ عَنِ

WA ANTA TAZOODO BOHAMAL MUSHREKEENA A’NIN

scavengers from the polytheists away

النَّبِیِّ ذَاتَ الْیَمِیْنِ وَذَاتَ الشِّمَالِ

NABBIYYE ZAATAL YAMEENE WA ZAATAS SHEMAALE

from the Prophet from the right and from the left

حَتّٰی رَدَّهُمُ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْكُمَا

HATTA RADDAHOMULLAAHO TA-A’ALAA ANKOMAA

till the time Allah repelled them from you both

خَآئِفِیْنَ وَنَصَرَ بِكَ الْخَاذِلِیْنَ وَیَوْمَ

KHAAA-EFEENA WA NASARA BEKAL KHAAZELEENA WA YAWMA

while they were in the state of fear and through you, He helped the forsaken ones and on the Day

حُنَیْنٍ عَلٰی مَا نَطَقَ بِهِ التَّنْزِیْلُ اِذْ

HONAYNIN A’LAA MAA NATAQA BEHIT TANZEELO IZ

of Hunain as Quran says, ‘When the abundance of

اَعْجَبَتْكُمْ كَثْرَتُكُمْ فَلَمْ تُغْنِ عَنْكُمْ

A’AJABATKUM KASRATOKUM FALAM TUGHNE A’NKUN

your number amazed you but it did not benefit you

شَیْئًا وَضَاقَتْ عَلَیْكُمُ الْاَرْضُ بِمَا

SHAYAN WAZAA QAT ALAYKUMUL ARZO BEMAA

at all and the earth became straitened for you in spite of

رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّیْتُمْ مُدْبِرِیْنَ ثُمَّ اَنْزَلَ

RAHOBAT SUMMA WALLAYTUM MUDBEREENA SUMMA ANZALAL

its vastness, then you turned back, then

اللهُ سَكِیْنَتَہٗ عَلٰی رَسُوْلِهٖ وَعَلَی

LAAHO SAKEENATAHU A’LAA RASOOLEHI WA A’LAL

Allah sent down tranquility upon His Apostle and the

الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ اَنْتَ وَمَنْ

MOMINEENA WAL MUMINOONA ANTA WAMAN

believing men and the term believers refers to you and

یَلِیْكَ وَعَمُّكَ الْعَبَّاسُ یُنَادِیْ

YA-LEEKA WA A’MMOKAL A’BBAASO YONAADIL

those who were with you and your uncle Abbas kept

الْمُنْهَزِمِیْنَ یَا اَصْحَابَ سُوْرَۃِ

MUNHAZEMEENA YA ASHAABA SOORATIL

on calling out of the fleeing Muslims. O the people of

الْبَقَرَۃِ یَا اَهْلِ بَیْعَۃِ الشَّجَرَۃِ حَتّٰی

BAQARATE YAA AHLE BAYTISH SHAJARATE HATTAS

the chapter of the cow, O those who had pledged allegiance under the tree till

اسْتَجَابَ لَہٗ قَوْمٌ قَدْ كَفَیْتَهُمُ الْمَؤُنَۃَ

TAJAABA LAHU QAWMUN QAD KAFAYTOHOMUL MA-OONATA

a group of them responded. Then you arranged for their provisions

وَتَكَفَّلْتَ دُوْنَهُمُ الْمَعُوْنَۃَ فَعَادُوْا

WA TAKAFFALTA DOONAHOMUL MA-O’ONATA FA-A’ADOO

and became their protector for their daily necessities.

اٰیِسِیْنَ مِنَ الْمَثُوْبَۃِ رَاجِیْنَ وَعْدَ اللهِ

AAYESEENA MENAL MASOOBATEHI RAAJEENA WA’DALLAAHE

Then these people returned, despair of recompense, expectant of the promise of Allah,

تَعَالٰی بِالتَّوْبَۃِ وَذٰلِكَ قَوْلُ اللهِ جَلَّ

TA-A’ALAA BITTAWBATE WA ZAALEKA QAWLULLAAHE JALLA

the High, through repentance. And that is the saying of Allah, Honoured

ذِكْرُہٗ ثُمَّ یَتُوْبُ اللهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذٰلِكَ

ZIKRAHU SUMMA YATOOBULLAAHO MIN BA’DE ZAALEKA

be His Remembrance. Then Allah turned (with Mercy)

عَلٰی مَنْ یَشَآءُ وَاَنْتَ حَآئِزٌ دَرَجَۃَ

A’LAA MAN YASHAAA-O WA ANTA HAA-EZUN DARAJATAS

after that to whomsoever He wished and you were firmly on the grades

الصَّبْرِ فَآئِزٌ بِعَظِیْمِ الْاَجْرِ وَیَوْمَ

SABRE FAAEZUN BE-A’ZEEMIL AJRE WAWMA

of patience and successful with a great recompense and on the Day

خَیْبَرَ اِذْ اَظْهَرَ اللهُ خَوَرَ الْمُنَافِقِیْنَ

KHAYBARA IZ AZHARALLAAHO KHAWARAL MONAAFEQEENA

of Khaibar, when Allah exposed the slackness of the hypocrites

وَقَطَعَ دَابِرَ الْكَافِرِیْنَ

WA QA-TA-A’ DAABERAL KAAFEREENA

and cut off the roots of the disbelievers

وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ

WAL HAMDO LILLAAHE RABBIL A’ALAMEENA

and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe

وَلَقَدْ كَانُوْا عَاهَدُوْا اللهَ مِنْ قَبْلُ

WA LAQAD KAANOO A’AHADULLAAHA MIN QABLO

and surely they had made a covenant from Allah from before

لَا یُوَلُّوْنَ الْاَدْبَارَ وَكَانَ عَهْدُ اللهِ

LAA YOWALLOONAL ADBAARA WA KAANA A’HADULLAHE

that they will not turn their backs and surely the covenant of Allah

مَسْئُوْلًا مَوْلَایَ اَنْتَ الْحُجَّۃُ الْبَالِغَۃُ

MAS-OOLAN MAWLAAYA ANTAL HUJJATUL BAALEGHATO

will be questioned. O my master, you are the far-reaching

وَالْمُحَجَّۃُ الْوَاضِحَۃُ وَالنِّعْمَۃُ

WAL MOHAJJATUL WAAZEHATO WAN-NEA’MATUS

argument and the evident aim and the perfect bounty

السَّابِغَۃُ وَالْبُرْهَانُ الْمُنِیْرُ فَهَنِیْٓئًا لَكَ

SAABEGHATO WAL BURHAANUL MONEERO FA-HANEE-AN LAKA

and the evident proof. Then congratulations be to you,

بِمَا اٰتٰیكَ اللهُ مِنْ فَضْلٍ وَتَبًّا

BEMA AATAAKALLAAHO MIN FAZLIN WA TABBAN

due to what Allah has granted you from the grace, and may it be away from your enemy,

لِشَانِئِكَ ذِی الْجَهْلِ شَهِدْتَ مَعَ

LESHAANE-EKA ZILJAHLE SHAHIDTA MA-A’N

the ignorant, You participated in all the

النَّبِیِّ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ جَمِیْعَ

NABIYYE SALLALLAAHO ALAYHE WA AALEHI JAMEE-A’N

battles alongwith the Holy Prophet, blessings of Allah be on him and his progeny

حُرُوبِهٖ وَمَغَازِیْهِ تَحْمِلُ الرَّایَۃَ

HOROOBEHI WA MAGHAAZEEHE TAH-MELUR RAAYATA

you carried the flags while leading him and were fighting with the sword

اَمَامَہٗ وَتَضْرِبُ بِالسَّیْفِ قُدَّامَہٗ ثُمَّ

AMAAMAHU WA TAZREBO BIS SAYFE QUDDAAMAHU SUMMA

in front of him. Then

لِخَرْمِكَ الْمَشْهُوْرِ وَبَصِیْرَتِكَ فِی

LEHAZMEKAL MASH-HOORE WA BASEERATEKA FIL

due to Your famed prudence and your foresight

الْاُمُوْرِ اَمَّرَكَ فِی الْمَوَاطِنِ وَلَمْ

OMOORE AMMARAKA FIL MAWAATENE WA LAM

in the affairs, he made you

یَكُنْ عَلَیْكَ اَمِیْرٌ وَكَمْ مِنْ اَمْرٍ

YAKUN A’LAYKA AMEERUN WAKAM MIN AMRIN

the commander in various places and there was no commander over you and there were so many affairs

صَدَّكَ عَنْ اِمْضَآءِ عَزْمِكَ فِیْهِ التُّقٰی

SADDAKA A’N IMZAAA-E A’ZMEKA FEEHIT TOQAA

in which piety kept desisted you from its

وَاتَّبَعَ غَیْرُكَ فِیْ مِثْلِهِ الْهَوٰی فَظَنَّ

WAT-TABA-A’ GHAYROKA FEE MISLEHIL HAWAA FAZANNAL

performance while others have followed their desires in committing.

الْجَاهِلُوْنَ اَنَّكَ عَجَزْتَ عَمَّا اِلَیْهِ

JAAHELOONA ANNAKA A’JAZTA A’MMAA ELAYHIN

Then the ignorant used to opine that you were helpless

انْتَهٰی ضَلَّ وَاللهِ الظَّآنُّ لِذٰلِكَ وَمَا

TAHAA ZALLA WALLAAHIZ ZAAANNO LEZAALEKA WA MAH

in their performance. It is not like that rather, by Allah, the one who thinks so is

اهْتَدٰی وَلَقَدْ اَوْضَحْتَ مَآ اَشْكَلَ

TADAA WA LAQAD AWZAHTA MAAA ASHKALA

indeed deviated in his opinion and he is not guided and certainly by your words,

مِنْ ذٰلِكَ لِمَنْ تَوَهَمَ وَامْتَرٰی

MIN ZAALEKA LEMAN TAWAHHAMA WAMTARAA

you had removed the skepticism of the presumers

بِقَوْلِكَ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْكَ قَدْ یَرَی

BE QAWLEKA SALLALLAAHO A’LAYKA QAD YARAL

and the falsehood of the slanderers. Blessings of Allah be upon you, ‘Certainly the variable

الْحُوَّلُ الْقُلَّبُ وَجْهَ الْحِیْلَۃِ وَدُوْنَهَا

HUWWALUL QULLABO WAJHAL HEELATEH WA DOONAHAA

and adaptable ones see the rise which

حَاجِزٌ مِنْ تَقْوَی اللهِ فَیَدْعُهَا رَاْیَ

HAA-JEZUN MIN TAQWALLAAHE FAYAD-O’HAA RAAYAL

only fear of Allah can impede. Then they forsake it

الْعَیْنِ وَیَنْتَهِزُ فُرْصَتَهَا مَنْ لَا

A’YNE WA YANTAHEZO FURSATAHAA MAN LAA

intentionally and those who have no soft-corner or

حَرِیْجَۃَ لَہٗ فِی الدِّیْنِ صَدَقْتَ

HAREEJATA LAHU FIDDEENE SADAQTA

concern for religion, they seize this opportunity.’ Surely you have spoken the truth

وَخَسِرَ الْمُبْطِلُوْنَ وَاِذْ مَاكَرَكَ

WA KHASERAL MUBTELOONA WA IZ MAAKARAKAN

and the deniers are in loss. And when the

النَّاكِثَانِ فَقَالَا نُرِیْدُ الْعُمْرَۃَ فَقُلْتَ

NAAKESAANE FAQAALAA NOREEDUL U’MRATA FAQULTA

covenant breakers plotted against you and said that we have come to perform the ‘umrah’, you told them.

لَهُمَا لَعَمْرُكُمَا مَا تُرِیْدَانِ الْعُمْرَۃَ

LAHOMAA LA-A’MRO KOMAA MAA TOREEDAANIL U’MRATA

I swear by your life, you do not intend to perform umrah,

لٰكِنْ تُرِیْدَانِ الْغَدْرَۃَ فَاَخَذْتَ الْبَیْعَۃَ

LAAKIN TOREEDAANIL GHADRATA FA-AKHAZTAL BAYA’TA

rather your intention is that of deceit. Then you took the pledge of allegiance

عَلَیْهِمَا وَجَدَّدْتَ الْمِیْثَاقَ فَجَدَّا

A’LAYHEMAA WA JADDADTAL MEESAAQA FAJADDA

from both of them and renewed the covenant with them, they strove and struggled

فِی النِّفَاقِ نَبَّهْتَهُمَا عَلٰی فِعْلِهِمَا

FIN NEFAAQE NABBAH-TAHOMAA A’LAA FE’LEHEMAA

in acts of hypocrisy. Then when you appraised them of their actions,

اَغْفَلَا وَعَادَا وَمَا انْتَفَعَا وَكَانَ

AGHFALAA WA-A’ADAA WA MAN TAFA-A’A WA KAANA

they were negligent and returned and did not pay

عَاقِبَۃُ اَمْرِهِمَا خُسْرًا ثُمَّ تَلَاهُمَا

A’AQEBATO AMREHEMAA KHUSRAN SUMMA TALAAHOMAA

any heed and the end-result of their affair was ‘loss’.

اَهْلُ الشَّامِ فَسِرْتَ اِلَیْهِمْ بَعْدَ

AHLUSH SHAAME FASIRTA ELAYHIM B’ADAL

Then the people of Damascus followed them and you took after

الْاِعْذَارِ وَهُمْ لَا یَدِیْنُوْنَ دِیْنَ الْحَقِّ

EA’ZAARE WAHUM LAA YADEENOONA DEENAL HAQQE

completing the argument, rose up to defend against them while they did not believe in the true religion

وَلَا یَتَدَبَّرُوْنَ الْقُرْاٰنَ هَمَجٌ رَعَاعٌ

WA LAA YATADABBAROONAL QUR-AANA HAMAJUN RA-A’A-U’N

and did not ponder on the Holy Quran. They were debased, foolish and

ضَآلُّوْنَ وَبِالَّذِیْٓ اُنْزِلَ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ

ZAAALLOONA WA BILLAZEE UNZELA A’LAA MOHAMMADIN

deviated and did not believe in all that

فِیْكَ كَافِرُوْنَ وَلِاَهْلِ الْخِلَافِ

FEEKA KAAFEROONA WA LEAHLIL KHELAAFE

was revealed on Mohammad concerning you.

عَلَیْكَ نَاصِرُوْنَ وَقَدْ اَمَرَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی

A’LAYKA NAASEROONA WA QAD AMARALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA

They assisted your enemies while Allah, the High,

بِاتِّبَاعِكَ وَنَدَبَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ اِلٰی

BIT-TEBAAE’KA WA NADABAL MOMINEENA ELAA

had ordered them to follow you and had called them to

نَصْرِكَ وَقَالَ عَزَّوَجَلَّ یَآ اَیُّهَا الَّذِیْنَ

NASREKA WAQAALAA A’ZZA WAJALLA YAA AYYOHAL LAZEENA

assist you and He, the Honoured, the Majestic, said: O those who believe!

اٰمَنُوْا اتَّقُوا اللهَ وَكُوْنُوْا مَعَ

AAAMANUT TAQULLAAHA WA KOONOO MA-A’S

Fear Allah and be with the

الصَّادِقِیْنَ مَوْلَایَ بِكَ ظَهَرَ الْحَقُّ

SAADEQEENA MAWLAAYA BEKA ZAHARAL HAQQO

truthful ones.’ O my master! Through you the truth

وَقَدْ نَبَذَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَاَوْضَحْتَ

WA QAD NABAZHUL KHALQO WA AWZAHTAS

has been manifested when the creatures had forsaken it and you have made evident

السُّنَنَ بَعْدَ الدُّرُوْسِ وَالطَّمْسِ

SONANA BA’DAD DOROOSE WAT TAMSE

the ‘tradition’ after it had been eradicated and effaced.

فَلَكَ سَابِقَۃُ الْجِهَادِ عَلٰی تَصْدِیْقِ

FALAKA SAABEQATUL JEHAADE A’LAA TASDEEQIT

Then you initially fought in the way of establishing the truth

التَّنْزِیْلِ وَلَكَ فَضِیْلَۃُ الْجِهَادِ عَلٰی

TANZEELE WA LAKA FAZEELATAHUL JEHAADE A’LAA

of the revelation of Holy Quran and later on you fought to establish the actualization

تَحْقِیْقِ التَّاْوِیْلِ وَعَدُوُّكَ عَدُوُّ اللهِ

TAHQEEQIT TAAWEELE WA A’DOOWOKA A’DOOWULLAAHE

of the interpretation and your enemy

جَاحِدٌ لِرَسُوْلِ اللهِ یَدْعُوْ بَاطِلًا

JAAHEDUN LE RASOOLILLAAHE YAD-O’O BAATELAN

was the enemy of Allah, denier of the Apostle of Allah, he was calling towards falsehood

وَیَحْكُمُ جَآئِرًا وَیَتَاَمَّرُ غَاصِبًا

WA YAHKOMO JAAA-ERAN WA YATA-AMMARO GHAASEBAN

and ordering for tyranny and ruling with usurpation

وَیَدْعُوْ حِزْبَہٗ اِلَی النَّارِ وَعَمَّارٌ

WA YAD-O’O HIZBAHU ILAN NAARE WA A’MMAA RUN

and was calling his party towards the fire while Ammar was

یُجَاهِدُ وَیُنَادِیْ بَیْنَ الصَّفَّیْنِ

YOJAAHEDO WA YONAADEE BAYNAS SAFFAYNIR

fighting on your side and was calling out between the rows of battlefield:

الرَّوَاحَ الرَّوَاحَ اِلَی الْجَنَّۃِ وَلَمَّا

RAWAAHAR RAWAAHA ELAL JANNATE WA LAMMAS

Hasten towards Paradise and when he was thirsty,

اسْتَسْقٰی فَسُقِیَ اللَّبَنُ كَبَّرَ وَقَالَ

TASQAA FASOQEYAL LABANO KABBARA WA QAALA

he was offered milk and drink, he glorified Allah and stated that the

قَالَ لِیْ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْهِ

QAALA LEE RASOOLULLAAHE SALLALLAAHO ALAYHE

Apostle of Allah peace be upon him and his

وَاٰلِهٖ اٰخِرُ شَرَابِكَ مِنَ الدُّنْیَا ضَیَاحٌ

WA AALEHI WA AAKHERO SHARAABEKA MENAD DUNYAA ZAYAAHUN

progeny had told him: The last drink that you will have in this world

مِنْ لَبَنٍ وَتَقْتُلُكَ الْفِئَۃُ الْبَاغِیَۃُ

MIN LABANIN WA TAQTOLOKAL FE-ATUL BAAGHEYATO

will be milk and the rebellious group will kill you.

فَاعْتَرَضَہٗ اَبُوالْعَادِیَۃِ الْفَزَارِیُّ فَقَتَلَہٗ

FA-A’TARAZAHU ABUL A’ADEYATEHIL FAZAARIYYO FAQATALATAHU

Then Abul Aadiyaa al-Fazaari came forward and he killed Ammaar.

فَعَلٰی اَبِیْ الْعَادِیَۃِ لَعْنَۃُ اللهِ وَلَعْنَۃُ

FA-A’LAA ABIL A’ADEYATE LA’NATULLAAHE WA LA’NATO

Then upon Abul Aadiyah be the curse of Allah,

مَلآئِكَتِهٖ وَرُسُلِهٖ اَجْمَعِیْنَ وَعَلٰی

MALAAA-EKATEHI WA ROSOLEHI AJMA-E’ENA WA A’LAA

His angles and His Apostles, all of them and also on

مَنْ سَلَّ سَیْفَہٗ عَلَیْكَ وَسَلَلْتَ

MAN SALLA SAYFAHU A’LAYKA WA SALALTA

those who raised their swords against you and you drew

سَیْفَكَ عَلَیْهِ یَا اَمِیْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ مِنَ

SAYFAKA A’LAYHE YAA AMEERAL MOMINEENA MENAL

your sword against them, be they, O the commander of the faithful,

الْمُشْرِكِیْنَ وَالْمُنَافِقِیْنَ اِلٰی یَوْمِ

MUSHREKEENA WAL MONAAFEQEENA ELAA YAWMID

from the polytheists or the hypocrites, till the Day

الدِّیْنِ وَعَلٰی مَنْ رَضِیَ بِمَا سَآئَكَ

DEENE WA A’LAA MAN RAZEYA BEMA SAAA-AKA

of Judgement and those who were satisfied with the evil

وَلَمْ یَكْرَهْهُ وَاَغْمَضَ عَیْنَہٗ وَلَمْ

WA LAM YAKRAH-HO WA AGHMAZA A’YNAHU WALAM

that afflicted you and did not detest it, and covered it up and

یُنْكِرْ اَوْ اَعَانَ عَلَیْكَ بِیَدٍ اَوْ لِسَانٍ

YUNKIR AW A-A’ANA A’LAYKA BEYADIN AW LESAANIN

did not deny it nor helped you to ward it off by their hand or tongue or sat down

اَوْ قَعَدَ عَنْ نَصْرِكَ اَوْ خَذَلَ عَنِ

AW QA-A’DAN A’N NASREKA AW KHAZALA A’NIL

when it came to helping you and forsook you in

الْجِهَادِ مَعَكَ اَوْ غَمَطَ فَضْلَكَ

JEHAADE MA-A’KA AW GHAMATA FAZLAKA

fighting and tried to reduce your superiority

وَجَحَدَ حَقَّكَ اَوْ عَدَلَ بِكَ مَنْ

WA JAHADA HAQQAKA AW A’DALA BEKA MAN

and denied your right or equated you with the one whom Allah has made you as having more authority on him then he has on himself.

جَعَلَكَ اللهَ اَوْلٰی بِهٖ مِنْ نَفْسِهٖ

JA-A’LAKALLAAHA AWLAA BEHI MIN NAFSEHI

Salutation of Allah be upon you

وَصَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَیْكَ وَرَحْمَۃُ اللهِ

WA SALAWAATULLAAHE A’LAYKA WA RAHMATULLAHE

and the Mercy of Allah and His

وَبَرَكَاتُہٗ وَسَلَامُہٗ

WA BARAKAATOHU WA SALAAMOHU

Blessings and His Peace

وَتَحِیَّاتُہٗ وَعَلَی الْاَئِمَّۃِ مِنْ اٰلِكَ

WA TAHIYYAATOHU WA A’LAL A-IMMATE MIN AALEKAT

and His Greetings and upon the leaders from the pure

الطَّاهِرِیْنَ اِنَّہٗ حَمِیْدٌ مَجِیْدٌ وَالْاَمْرُ

TAAHEREENA INNAHU HAMEEDUN MAJEEDUN WAL AMRUL

progeny, surely He is the Praiseworthy, Majestic.

الْاَعْجَبُ وَالْخَطْبُ الْاَفَظْعُ بَعْدَ

A-A’JABO WAL KHATABUL AFAZ-O’ BA’DA

And a most astonishing event and the most detestable situation after

جَحْدِكَ حَقَّكَ غَصْبُ الصِّدِّیْقَۃِ

JAHDEKA HAQQAKA GHASBUS SIDDEEQATTIT

the denial of your right was the usurpation of Fadak that belonged to the Truthful and Pure

الطَّاهِرَۃِ الزَّهْرَآءِ سَیِّدَۃِ النِّسَآءِ

TAAHERATIZ ZAHRAAA-E SAYYEDATIN NESAAA-E

and Fair lady (Fatimah), the leader of the women (of the universe)

فَدَکًا وَرَدُّ شَهَادَتِكَ وَشَهَادَۃِ

FADAKAN WA RADDO SHAHAADATEKA WA SHAHAADATIS

and the rejection of your testimony and that

السَّیِّدَیْنِ سُلَالَتِكَ وَعِتْرَۃِ

SAYYEDAYNE SOLAALATEKA WA I’TRATAL

of the two leaders from the progeny

الْمُصْطَفٰی صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْكُمْ وَقَدْ

MUSTAFA SALLALLAAHO A’LAYKUM WA QAD

of Al-Mustafa blessings of Allah be on you concerning

اَعْلَی اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَلَی الْاُمَّۃِ دَرَجَتَكُمْ

A-A’LALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA A’LAL UMMATE DARAJATAKUM

it while Allah has extolled your status over the nations and has raised your position

وَرَفَعَ مَنْزِلَتَكُمْ وَاَبَانَ فَضْلَكُمْ

WA RAFA-A’ MANZELATAKUM WA ABAANA FAZLAKUM

and has made clean your superiority and has

وَشَرَّفَكُمْ عَلَی الْعَالَمِیْنَ فَاَذْهَبَ

WA SHARRAFAKUM A’LAL A’ALAMEENA FA-AZHABA

honoured you over the universe,

عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ وَطَهَرَكُمْ تَطْهِیْرًا

A’NKOMUR RIJSA WA TAHHARAKUM TATHEERAN

then He removed from you all types of filth and has purified you as purification ought to be,

قَالَ اللهُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ اِنَّ الْاِنْسَانَ خُلِقَ

QAALALLAAHO AZZA WA JALLA INNAL INSAANA KHOLEQA

Allah, the Honoured, the Majestic. Surely, man has been created greedy (by nature) and

هَلُوْعًا اِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوْعًا وَاِذَا

HALOO-A’N EZAA MASSAHUSH SHARRO JAZOO-A’N WA EZAA

when evil afflicts him, he becomes anxious and

مَسَّهُ الْخَیْرُ مَنُوْعًا اِلَّا الْمُصَلِّیْنَ

MASSAHUL KHAYRO MANOO-A’N ILLAL MOSALLEENA

when good occurs to him, he does not acknowledge except the praying ones.

فَاسْتَثْنَی اللهُ تَعَالٰی نَبِیَّہٗ الْمُصْطَفٰی

FASTASNALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA NABIYYAHUL MUSTAFA

Then Allah praised His Prophet al-Mustafa

وَاَنْتَ یَا سَیِّدَ الْاَوْصِیَآءِ مِنْ جَمِیْعِ

WA ANTA YAA SAYYEDAL AWSEYAAA-E MIN JAMEE-I’L

and you, O the chief of the vicegerents, from the entire creation.

الْخَلْقِ فَمَا اَعْمَهَ مَنْ ظَلَمَكَ عَنِ

KHALQE FAMAA A’AMAHA MAN ZALAMAKA A’NIL

How blinded is he, who has oppressed you concerning your right, then through deceit

الْحَقِّ ثُمَّ اَفْرَضُوْكَ سَهْمَ ذَوِی

HAQQE SUMMA AFRAZOOKA SAHMA ZAWIL

they took away the share of the near ones of the Apostle and through oppression,

الْقُرْبٰی مَكْرًا وَاَحَادُوْهُ عَنْ اَهْلِهٖ

QURBAA MAKRAN WA AHAADOOHO A’N AHLEHI

they prevented it from reaching to its rightful owners.

جَوْرًا فَلَمَّا اٰلَ الْاَمْرُ اِلَیْكَ اَجْرَیْتَهُمْ

JAWRAN FALAMMAA AALAL AMRO ELAYKA AJRAYTAHUM

Then, when the affair (of Caliphate) came to you, you left them

عَلٰی مَا اَجْرَ یَا رَغْبَةً عَنْهُمَا بِمَا عِنْدَ

A’LAA MAA AJRAYAA RAGHBATAN A’NHOMAA BEMAA I’NDAL

on their own and kept away from them, seeking reward from

اللهِ لَكَ فَاَشْبَهَتْ مِحْنَتُكَ بِهِمَا

LAAHE LAKA FASHBAHAT MEHNATOKA BEHEMAA

Allah. How similar is your trial to those of the

مِحَنَ الْاَنْبِیَآءِ عَلَیْهِمُ السَّلَامُ عِنْدَ

MEHANAL ANBEYAAA-E A’LAYHEMUSSALAAMO I’NDAL

Prophets, peace be upon them, in being

الْوَحْدَۃِ وَعَدَمِ الْاَنْصَارِ وَاَشْبَهْتَ

WAHDATE WA ‘ADAMIL ANSAARE WA ASHBAHTA

left alone and devoid of any helpers.

فِی الْبَیَاتِ عَلَی الْفِرَاشِ الذَّبِیْحَ

FIL BAYAATE A’LAL FERAASHIZ ZABEEHA

You were similar to the sacrificed ‘Ismaeel’ when you slept

عَلَیْهِ السَّلَامُ اِذَا اَجَبْتَ كَمَا اَجَابَ

A’LAYHIS SALAAMO EZAA AJABTA KAMAA AJAABA

on the bed of the Apostle in the night of migration because you responded in

وَاَطَعْتَ كَمَا اَطَاعَ اِسْمٰعِیْلُ صَابِرًا

WA ATA’TA KAMAA ATAA-A’ ISMAAE’ELO SAABERAN

the same manner as him and you obeyed that just as Ismael obeyed, being patient

مُحْتَسِبًا اِذْ قَالَ لَہٗ یَا بُنَیَّ اِنِّیْٓ اَرٰی

MOHTASEBAN IZ QAALA LAHU YA BONAYYA INNI ARAA

and forebearing. When Ibrahim said to him, ‘O my son! Surely, I see

فِی الْمَنَامِ اَنِّیْ اَذْبَحُكَ فَانْظُرْ مَاذَا

FIL MANAAME ANNI AZBAHOKA FANZUR MAAZA

in the dream that I am slaughtering you, then what

تَریٰ قَالَ یَا اَبَتِ افْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ

TARAA QAALA YAA ABATIF-A’L MAA TOAMARO

do you say? He said, ‘O father! You carry out what you have been ordered.

سَتَجِدُنِیْ اِنْشَآءَ اللهُ مِنَ الصَّابِرِیْنَ

SATAJEDONEE INSHAA-ALLAAHO MENAS SAABEREENA

You will soon find me among the patient ones

وَكَذٰلِكَ اَنْتَ لَمَّا اَبَاتَكَ النَّبِیُّ صَلَّی

WA KAZAALEKA ANTA LAMMA ABAATAKAN NABIYYO SALLAL

and you also recited in the same manner when the Prophet (blessings be

اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَاَمَرَكَ اَنْ تَضْجِعَ

LAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI WA AMARAKA AN TAZJE-A’

upon him and his progeny) ordered you to spend the

فِیْ مَرْقَدِهٖ وَاقِیًا لَہٗ بِنَفْسِكَ

FEE MARQADEHI WAAQEYAN LAHU BE NAFSEKA

night sleeping in his bed in order that his life be saved.

اَسْرَعْتَ اِلٰی اِجَابَتِهٖ مُطِیْعًا

ASRA’TA ELAA EJAABATEHI MOTEE-A’N

Then you responded very quickly and prepared

وَلِنَفْسِكَ عَلَی الْقَتْلُ مَوَطِّنًا فَشَكَرَ

WA LE NAFSEKA A’LAL QATLO MAWATTENAN FA-SHAKARAL

yourself to die obediently.

اللهُ تَعَالٰی طَاعَتَكَ وَاَبَانَ عَنْ جَمِیْلِ

LAAHO TA-A’ALAA TAA-A’TAKA WA ABAANA A’N JAMEELE

Then Allah thanked your obedience and manifested your good

فِعْلِكَ بِقَوْلِهٖ جَلَّ ذِكْرُہٗ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ

FE’LAKA BE QAWLEHI JALLA ZIKROHU WA MENAN NAASE

deed through His saying, ‘And from among the men are those

مَنْ یَّشْرِیْ نَفْسَهُ ابْتِغَآءَ مَرْضَاتِ

MAYN YASHREE NAFSAAHUN BEGHAAA-A MARZAATIL

who sell their souls to seek the satisfaction of Allah.

اللهِ ثُمَّ مِحْنَتُكَ یَوْمَ صِفِّیْنَ وَقَدْ

LLAHE SUMMA MEHNATOKA YAWMA SIFFEENA WA QAD

And then your examination of the Day of Siffeen when

رُفِعَتِ الْمَصَاحِفُ حِیْلَةً وَمَكْرًا

ROFE-A’TIL MASAAHEFO HEELATAN WA MAKRAN

people raised the Holy Quran in deceit, the people

فَاَعْرَضَ الشَّكَ وَغُرِفَ الْحَقُّ

FA A-A’RAZASH SHAKKA WAGHOREFIL HAQQO

became skeptical and truth was covered,

وَاتُّبِعَ الظَّنُّ اَشْبَهَتْ مِحْنَۃَ هَارُوْنَ

WAT TOBE-A’Z ZANNO ASHBAHAT MEHNATA HAAROONA

and conjectures were followed.This resembled the examination of Haroon

اِذْ اَمَّرَہٗ مُوْسٰی عَلٰی قَوْمِهٖ فَتَفَرَّقُوْا

IZ AMMARAHU MOOSA A’LAA QAWMEHI FATAFARRAQOO

when Moosa made them the leader of his nation then they separated

عَنْهُ وَهَارُوْنُ یُنَادِیْ بِهِمْ وَیَقُوْلُ

A’NHO WA HAAROONO YONAADEE BEHIM WA YAQOOLO

from him while Haroon was calling to them saying,

یَا قَوْمٍ اِنَّمَا فُتِنْتُمْ بِهٖ وَاِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ

YAA QAWME INNAMAA FOTINTUM BEHI WA INNA RABBAKOMUR

‘O my people, surely you are being examined through this and surely your Lord

الرَّحْمٰنُ فَاتَّبِعُونِیْ وَاَطِیْعُوْٓا اَمْرِیْ

RAHMAANO FATTABE-O-ONEE WA ATEE-O’O AMREE

is the All-Beneficent, then you follow me and obey my command.’

قَالُوْا لَنْ نَبْرَحَ عَلَیْهِ عَاكِفِیْنَ حَتّٰی

QAALOO LAN NABRAHA A’LAYHE A’AKEFEENA HATTA

They replied, ‘We will keep on worshipping the calf till

یَرْجِعَ اِلَیْنَا مُوْسٰی وَكَذٰلِكَ اَنْتَ

YARJE-A’ ELAYNA MOOSAA WA KAZAALEKA ANTA

the time Moosa returns. The same things occurred with you. When the Holy Quran

لَمَّا رُفِعَتِ الْمَصَاحِفُ قُلْتَ یَا قَوْمِ

LAMMA ROFE-A’TIL MASAAHEFO QULTA YAA QAWME

were being raised, you called out, O my people,

اِنَّمَا فُتِنْتُمْ بِهَا وَخُدِعْتُمْ فَعَصَوْكَ

INNAMA FOTINTUM BEHAA WA KHO-DEA’TUM FA A’SAWKA

you are being examined by it and you are being deceived,

وَخَالَفُوْا عَلَیْكَ وَاسْتَدْعَوْا نَصْبَ

WA KHAALAFOO A’LAYKA WASTAD-O’O NASBAL

then they disobeyed you and opposed you and called for arbitration

الْحَكَمَیْنِ فَاَبَیْتَ عَلَیْهِمْ وَتَبَرَّاْتَ

HAKAMAYNE FA ABAYTA A’LAYHIM WA TABARRAATA

so you refused and disowned from them

اِلَی اللهِ مِنْ فِعْلِهِمْ وَفَوَّضْتَہٗ اِلَیْهِمْ

ELALLAAHE MIN FEA’LEHIM WA FAWWAZTAHU ELAYHIM

infront of Allah and you left the matter to them.

فَلَمَّآ اَسْفَرَ الْحَقُّ وَسَفِهَ الْمُنْكَرُ

FALAMMA ASFARAL HAQQO WA SAFEHAL MUNKARO

Then when the truth was made evident and

وَاعْتَرَفُوْا بِالزَّلَلِ وَالْجَوْرِ عَنِ

WA’TARAFOO BIZZALALE WAL JAWRE A’NIL

the foolishness was exposed and they admitted to their mistakes and tyranny and opposed

الْقَصْدِ اخْتَلَفُوْا مِنْ بَعْدِهٖ وَاَلْزَمُوْكَ

QASDIKH TALAFOO MIN BA’DEHI WA ALZAMOOKA

oppression after that and made allegations that you had

عَلٰی سَفَهِ التَّحْكِیْمَ الَّذِیْٓ اَبَیْتَہٗ

A’LAA SAFAEHIT TAHKEEMALLAZEE ABAYTAHU

set up the foolish act of arbitration which in fact you had opposed and they wanted it.

وَاَحَبُّوْهُ وَخَطَرْتَہٗ وَاَبَاحُوَاذَنْبَهُمُ

WA AHABBOOHU WA KHATARATAHU WA ABAAHOWAA ZANBAHOMUL

You warned them about it but they deemed their sin as permissible.

الَّذِیْ اقْتَرَفُوْهُ وَاَنْتَ عَلٰی نَهْجِ

LAZIQ TARAFOOHO WA ANTA A’LAA NAHJE

While you were on the peak of foresight

بَصِیْرَۃٍ وَهُدًی وَهُمْ عَلٰی سُنَنٍ

BASEERAT IN WAHODAN WAHUM A’LAA SONANIN

and guidance and they were on the path of

ضَلَالَۃٍ وَعَمًی فَمَا زَالُوْا عَلَی

ZALAALATIN WA A’MAN FAMAA ZAALOO A’LAN

deviation and blindness. They then persisted in their

النِّفَاقِ مُصَرِّیْنَ وَفِی الْغَیِّ مُتَرَدِّدِیْنَ

NEFAAQE MOSABBEREENA WAFIL GHAYYE MOTARADDEDEENA

hypocrisy and were lying in deviation till Allah made them taste the evil consequences of their actions,

حَتّٰی اَذَاقَهُمُ اللهُ وَبَالَ اَمْرِهِمْ

HATTAA AZAAQAHOMULLAAHO WA BAALA AMREHIM

then Allah caused to die the one

فَاَمَاتَ بِسَیْفِكَ مَنْ عَانَدَكَ فَشَقِیَ

FA AMAATA BESAYFEKA MAN A’ANADAKA FA SHAQEYA

who opposed you by your sword while he was unfortunate

وَهَوٰی وَاَحْیٰی بِحُجَّتِكَ مَنْ سَعَدَ

WA HAWAA WA AHYAA BEHUJJATEKA MAN SA-A’DA

and deviated. And He enlivened by your proof, the one who was fortunate

فَهُدِیَ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَیْكَ غَادِیَةً

FA-HODEYA SALAWAATULLAAHE A’LAYKA GHAADEYATAN

and was guided, blessings of Allah be you, morning and evening, from the beginning to the end,

وَرَآئِحَةً وَعَاكِفَةً وَذَاهِبَةً فَمَا

WARAAA-EHATAN WA AAKEFATAN WA ZAAHEBATAN FAMAA

in motion and while still, then no eulogizers can truly

یُحِیْطُ الْمَادِحٌ وَصْفَكَ وَلَا یُحِیْطُ

YOHEETUL MAADEHUN WASFAKA WALAA YOHEETUT

comprehend your attributes and neither can

الطَّاعِنُ فَضْلِكَ اَنْتَ اَحْسَنُ الْخَلْقِ

TAA-E’NO FAZLEKA ANTA AHSANUL KHALQE

any maligner comprehend your virtues. You were the best of creation

عِبَادَةً وَاَخْلَصُهُمْ زَهَادَةً وَاَذَّبُهُمْ

E’BAADATAN WA AKHLASOHUM ZAHAADATAN WA AZZABOHUM

in the matter of worship and the most sincere

عَنِ الدِّیْنِ اَقَمْتَ حُدُوْدَ اللهِ

A’NID DEENE AQAMTA HODOODALLAAHE

in abstinence and the most defending of the religion.

بِجُهْدِكَ وَفَلَكَ عَسَاكِرَ الْمَارِقِیْنَ

BE JOHADEKA WA FALAKA A’SAAKERAL MAAREQEENA

You strove to uphold the limits imposed by Allah and defeated the enemies of the deviated ones

بِسَیْفِكَ تُخْمِدُ لَهَبَ الْحُرُوْبِ

BE SAYFEKA TUKHMEDO LAHABAL HOROOBE

by your sword and you doused the fire of war

بِبَنَانِكَ وَتَهْتِكُ سُتُوْرَ الشُّبَهِ

BEBANAANEKA WA TAHTEKO SOTOORASH SHOBAHE

by your power and you tore to shreds the curtains of doubts

بِبَیَانِكَ وَتَكْشِفُ لَبْسَ الْبَاطِلِ

BE BAYAANEKA WA TAKSHEFO LABSAL BAATELE

by your oratory and you exposed the deception of falsehood

عَنْ صَرِیْحِ الْحَقِّ لَا تَاْخُذُكَ فِی اللهِ

A’N SAREEHIL HAQQE LAA TAAKHOZOKA FIL LAAHE

by explanation of truth. The slandering of any slanderer

لَوْمَۃُ لَائِمٍ وَفِیْ مَدْحِ اللهِ تَعَالٰی لَكَ

LAUMATO LAAEMIN WA FEE MADHILLAAHE TA-A’ALAA LAKA

did not bother you in the way of Allah and your praising by Allah

غِنًی عَنْ مَدْحِ الْمَادِحِیْنَ وَتَقْرِیْظِ

GHENAN A’N MADHIL MAADEHEENA WA TAQREEZIL

made you needless of the praises of the praising ones

الْوَاصِفِیْنَ قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی مِنَ

WAASEFEENA QAALALLAAHO TA-A’ALAA MENAL

and the attribution by those who do so. Allah, the Exalted, said, ‘From the men

الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوْا مَا عَاهَدُوْا

MOMINEENA REJAALUN SADAQOO MAA A’AHADUL

are those who fulfill their covenant then from those

اللهَ عَلَیْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضٰی نَحْبَہٗ

LAAHA A’LAYHE FAMINHUM MAN QAZAA NAHBAHU

are some who have departed from this world

وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ یَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوْا تَبْدِیْلًا

WA MINHUM MAN YANTAZER WA MAA BADDALOO TABDEELAN

and some are awaiting and they have not changed a thing

وَلَمَّا رَاَیْتَ اَنْ قَتَلْتَ النَّاكِثِیْنَ

WA LAMMA RA-AYATA AN QATALTAN NAAKESEENA

and when you saw that you were fighting against the covenant,

وَالْقَاسِطِیْنَ وَالْمَارِقِیْنَ وَصَدَقَكَ

WAL QAASETEENA WAL MAAREQEENA WA SADAQAKA

breakers, the oppressers and the deviated ones

رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ

RASOOLULLAAHE SALLALLAAHO A’LAYHE WA AALEHI

and the Apostle of Allah, Blessings of Allah be on him and his progeny

وَعْدَہٗ فَاَوْفَیْتَ بِعَهْدِهٖ قُلْتَ اَمَا اٰنَ

WA’DAHU FA-AWAFAYTA BE A’HDEHI QULTA AMAA ANA

had fulfilled his promise to you, then you too observed your covenant which you had made to him. You said,

اَنْ تُخْضَبَ هٰذِهٖ مِنْ هٰذِهٖ اَمْ مَتٰی

AN TUKHZABA HAAZEHI MIN HAAZEHI MATAA

Has the time not arrived that my beard be dyed with the blood of my head.

یُبْعَثُ اَشْقَاهَا وَاثِقًا بِاَنَّكَ عَلٰی بَیِّنَۃٍ

YUB-A’SO ASHQAAHAA WAASEQAN BEANNAKA A’LAA BAYYENATIN

When will the most unfortunate one of the nation,

مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَبَصِیْرَۃٍ

MIN RABBEKA WA BASEERATIN

entrusted for this action rise up. Surely, you were on a proof from your Lord and had foresight

مِنْ اَمْرِكَ قَادِمٌ عَلَی اللهِ

MIN AMREKA QAADEMUN A’LALLAAHE

in your affair. Proceeding towards Allah,

مُسْتَبْشِرٌ بِبَیْعِكَ الَّذِیْ

MUSTAB-SHERUN BE BAYE’KALLAZEE

receiving glad tidings of the trading that

بَایَعْتَہٗ بِهٖ وَذٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِیْمُ

BAAYA’TAHU BEHI WA ZAALEKA HOWAL FAWZUL A’ZEEMO

you have performed with Him and that is a great success.

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ قَتَلَۃَ اَنْبِیَآئِكَ وَاَوْصِیَآءِ

ALLAAHUMMALA’N QATALATA ANBEYAAA-EKA WA AWSEYAAA-E

O Allah, you curse the killers of Your Prophets and the vicegerents

اَنْبِیَآئِكَ بِجَمِیْعِ لَعَنَاتِكَ وَاَصْلِهِمْ

ANBEYAAA-EKA BE JAMEE-E’ LA’NAATEKA WA ASLEHIM

of Your Prophets by all Your curse and throw them

حَرَّ نَارِكَ وَالْعَنْ مَنْ غَصَبَ وَلِیَّكَ

HARRA NAAREKA WAL-A’N MAN GHASABA WALEEYYAKA

in Your Hell fire and curse the one who usurped the right of

حَقَّہٗ وَاَنْكَرَ عَهْدَہٗ وَجَحَدَہٗ بَعْدَ

HAQQAHU WA ANKARA A’HDAHU WA JAHADAHU BA’DAL

Your representative and rejected his covenant and denied him after

الْیَقِیْنِ وَالْاِقْرَارِ بِالْوِلَایَۃِ لَہٗ یَوْمَ

YAQEENE WAL IQRAARE BIL WELAAYATE LAHU YAWMA

being certain and after affirming to his mastership on the day

اَكْمَلْتَ لَهُ الدِّیْنَ

AKMALTA LAHUD DEENA

when You perfected the religion for him

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ قَتَلَۃَ اَمِیْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ

ALLAAHUMMAL-A’N QATALATA AMEERIL MOMINEENA

O Allah! Curse the killers of the leader of the faithful

وَمَنْ ظَلَمَہٗ وَاَشْیَاعَهُمْ وَاَنْصَارَهُمْ

WA MAN ZALAMAHU WA ASHYAA-A’HUM WA ANSAARAHUM

and those who oppressed him and their adherents and their helpers.

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ ظَالِمِیْ الْحُسَیْنِ

ALLAAHUMMAL-A’N ZAALEMIL HUSAYNE

O Allah! Curse those who have oppressed Husayn

وَقَاتِلِیْهِ وَالْمُتَابِعِیْنَ عَدُوَّہٗ

WA QAATELEEHE WAL MOTAABE-E’ENA A’DOOWWAHU

and killed him and those who followed his enemies

وَنَاصِرِیْهِ وَالرَّاضِیْنَ بِقَتْلِهٖ وَخَاذِلِیْهِ لَعْنًا وَبِیْلًا

WA NAASEREEHE WAR RAAZEENA BE QATLEHI WA KHAZELEEHE LA’NAN WABEELAN

and their aides and those who are satisfied with his killing and those who forsook him with a calamitous cursing.

اَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ اَوَّلَ ظَالِمٍ ظَلَمَ اٰلَ

ALLAAHUMMALA’N AWWALA ZAALEMIN ZALAMA AALE

O Allah! Curse the first oppressor who oppressed the progeny

مُحَمَّدٍ وَمَانَعِیْهِمْ حُقُوْقَهُمْ

MOHAMMADIN WA MAA-NA-E’EHIM HOQOOQAHUM

of Mohammad and denied them their rights.

اَللّٰهُمَّ خُصَّ اَوَّلَ ظَالِمٍ وَغَاصِبٍ

ALLAAHUMMA KHUSSA AWWALA ZAALEMIN WAGHAASEBIN

O Allah! Mark out the first oppressor and usurper

لِاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ بِاللَّعْنِ وَكُلَّ مُسْتَنٍّ بِمَا

LEAALE MOHAMMADIN BIL LA’NE WA KULLA MUSTANNIN BEMAA

of the progeny of Mohammad with curse and all those who treaded such a

سَنَّ اِلٰی یَوْمِ الْقِیٰمَۃِ

SANNA ELAA YAWMIL QEYAAMATE

path till the Day of Judgement.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ

ALLAAHUMMA SALLE A’LAA MOHAMMADIN KHAATAMIN

O Allah! Bless Mohammad the last

النَّبِیِّیْنَ وَعَلٰی عَلِیٍّ سَیِّدِ الْوَصِیِّیْنَ

NABIYYEENA WA A’LAA A’LIYYIN SAYYEDIL WASIYYEENA

of the Prophets and Ali, the leader of the vicegerents

وَاٰلِهِ الطَّاهِرِیْنَ وَاجْعَلْنَا بِهِمْ

WA AALEHIT TAAHEREENA WAJ-A’LNAA BEHIM

and his pure progeny and include us with them,

مُتَمَسِّكِیْنَ وَبِوِلَایَتِهِمْ مِنَ الْفَآئِزِیْنَ

MOTAMASSEKEENA WA BE WELAAYATEHIM MENAL FAAEZEENAL

being attached to them and being successful

الْاٰمِنِیْنَ الَّذِیْنَ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَیْهِمْ

AAMENEENALLAZEENA LAA KHAWFUN A’LAYHIM

through their mastership, among those who have no fear

وَلَا هُمْ یَحْزَنُوْنَ

WA LAA HUM YAHZANOONA

and neither do they grieve.
