When you stand for the ziyarah of Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (s.a.)’s tomb, you may say the following:
YAA MUMTAHANATUM
O carefully examined (lady):
TAHANAKIL LAAHUL LAZEE KHALAQAKE
Allah Who created you had tried you
QABLA ANY YAKHLOQAKE
before He created you (for this worldly life),
FAWAJADAKE LEMAM TAHANAKE SAABERATAN
and thus He found you successfully enduring in that trial.
WA ZA-A'MNAA ANNAA LAKE AWLEYAAA-O WA MOSADDEQOONA
We claim being loyalists to you, believers in you,
WA SAABEROONA LE KULLE MAA ATAANAA BEHI ABOOKE
and tolerant as regards all that which has been conveyed to us by your father,
SALLAL LAAHO A'LAYHE WA AALEHI
peace of Allah be upon him and his Household,
WA ATAA BEHI WASIYYOHU
and all that which his Successor has brought to us.
FA-INNAA NAS-ALOKE IN KUNNAA SADDAQNAAKE
We, thus, ask you, if we have really believed you,
ILLAA ALHAQTENAA BE TASDEEQENAA LAHOMAA
that you may include us with those who believe in both of them (i.e. the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and Imam Ali (a.s.)),
LE-NOBASHSHERA ANFOSANAA BE-ANNAA QAD TAHURNAA BE-WALAAYATEKE
so that we may feel happy that we have been purified on account of our loyalty to you.
